Davis is a small, treacherous little cuss who will claw the eyes and snatch out the hair of anyone who gets too close. The Repubs better deploy counter measures quickly.

Every soundbite from him features the words "35 million dollars", "right wing" and "pro choice". Of course he never says anything worth listening to, so he has to really repeat those particular words endlessly to get people to hear him. He has got to be kicked out of office. Go Arnold!

Davis is also hoping to stir up outrage over the estimated $35 million cost of a special election at a time when the state is facing a $38.2 billion financial crisis. Grey Davis' expenditures in the 2002 campaign...78 million dollars
Grey Davis' attack ads on Dick Riordan...approximately 12 million dollars of that
Spending all that money and almost getting beat by a political rookie who didn't even run a flawless campaign...priceless

(There are some things money can't buy. For everything else, there's the Gray Davis campaign fund.)

``The Republican right, in trying to impose their agenda on California, is costing the taxpayers millions and millions of dollars to satisfy their own political ambitions,'' Davis spokesman Roger Salazar said. What was Gray Davis satisfying when he forgave the Los Angeles School District for bilking the taxpayers out of $120 million of daily attendance money for students who didn't exist? He forgave them, never prosecuted anyone, never did nothing. If $120 mill didn't bother him then, millions for an election shouldn't bother him now.

This may not be a very sound strategy, they must be very desperate.
Even I can think of a comeback for this --- if your house is being destroyed by termites, would you spend a few hundred for an exterminator?

Yeah, you blow 40 billion of somebody else's money and then try to blame it all on someone else. Typical, cowardly liberal never to blame for anything.
The minute he's recalled he should be indicted for corruption, and led away in handcuffs.
