10-to-1 the town is Democratic (since it's W. Va.)

"I'd like to thank the Fisher Foundation, Gov. Bob Wise, and United States Senator Jay Rockefeller for the roles they played in helping my family to be with me in Germany and Washington," Lynch added."
Hello, Sheets Byrd? Where are you? Oh, I forgot...out there dissing the troops and our President. Go home, Senator Dementia, and down a bottle of Old Fart wine......

When they were talking about his status, I was busy capturing photos, so I didn't pay quite as much attention as I would have liked. I'm not sure where he is assigned.

Perhaps this shot will help.
To: DoughtyOne
Airborn.

I tried to find that patch but gave up. Didn't run into anything like it.
To: DoughtyOne
Shoulder patch is that of the 18th Aviation Brigade, the aviation element of the XVIII Airborne Corps.

Thank you very much.

Did she thank the President? He is, after all, the one who ordered that the families of the POWs and injured be transported wherever they needed to be.
To: meandog
That is an ugly thing to say. Democrat or Republican, Pvt. Lynch found her way into all of our hearts.
To: petitfour
Did she thank the President? He speech was much longer than what is written here. I don't remember the President but I know she thanked the IRAQUI CITIZENS who helped save her life in the hospital and who alerted the Army as to her whereabouts, as well the men that came in and rescued her. I'm sure that she thanked all who should have been thanked.
I can't believe how nasty some FReepers are about this young lady's speech. She is not a polished politician. She's a teen-aged soldier who was away from home for the first time and who has been grievously injured. Cut her some slack!
To: afraidfortherepublic
I didn't mean to offend. It just popped into my head, and I wondered if anyone else knew. I found her speech a while later. I wish her well. She has been through hell. I wish I could have watched some of her homecoming, but we killed our cable, and I don't bother watching the evening news.
To: petitfour
Sorry. I did not mean to jump on you, but the tone of some of these threads (starting yesterday) has been deplorable. Freepers have been sniping at her because she read the speech. I don't know what they expect -- a polished performance from everyone who comes down the pike? She's just a kid who has been through a lot, after all. It's not easy for everyone to speak before a large audience -- it's a little scary.

Looks like this is it.

There you go. I looked up airborne and rangers but found nothing that come close to this. I should have looked again after he mentioned the 18th.
Take care.
