Thanks for your comments. In an ideal world, we would all be "normal" like the Walgreen's ads invention of a town named "perfect".

Breaking: The Eiffel Tower is on fire.

You must be a liberal; your argument is based on pure emotion. Nobody will contest that the cartoon depicts an illegal act, but where's the advocacy? What about it makes you think the artist is wishing for GWB's murder?

LOL. You joined FR today? You're a liberal troll; the contents of your post mirror just about every liberal troll that comes on FR. The standard "you sound just like a liberal"- why don't you just accept your lifetime ban on FR and stop re-registering under different user-names?

Too quick for me; you were all over that one, Detective. I am chastened and shamed. The horror.

So, can you now defend your assertion that depicting an assassination is the same as advocating one?

Because I just registered today or because I disagree with your interpretation of the cartoon?

You are a strange little specimin if that's enough to make you bail on the conversation entirely. Or you're just lazy.

LOL...keep hacking at it, little man. Maybe one day someone will give you (and your infantile arguments) the attention you so desperately seek.

The jug-ears are OK, but the other facial features are just not recognizable.

The other facial features make little Dumbya's face resemble Nixon, whose crimes were less murderous than those of little Dumbya.

"People.
This cartoon is sympathetic to Bush.
Want me to walk through it?"

BUSH, with hands tied behind his back, a gun to his head, and Iraq as a drop back.

Yes, by all means, please walk me through it? Show me the humor?

Is this funny?
Not all cartoons are supposed to be funny,
nor should they be taken literally,
especially political cartoons.

No, it's not "sympathetic" to Bush. It looks more like intense liberal frustration with the ongoing implosion of the Kerry campaign. Rather than "walk us through it", why don't you go get some morning coffee and sober up.

In a strict intellectual sense this cartoon has the message that Bush is being hit with a lot of purely political attacks over Iraq. In that sense the cartoon is somewhat sympathetic. But this message is lost and overwhelmed by these anti-Bush factors:

1) Ugly caricature of Bush.
2) Portrays Bush as an impotent President with his hands tied (when in fact he's rapidly crushing what was once a large insurgent movement in Iraq.)
3) Cartoon makes a veiled suggestion that his political enemies may actually attempt violence against Bush. Given the context of numerous other threats of violence against Bush by left-wingers, the cartoon could be perceived by left-wing nuts as a suggestion to use violence against Bush.
4) Cartoon indirectly makes the usual false liberal accusation that Iraq is "another Vietnam" (when in fact the strategic situation there is much less difficult than what we faced in Vietnam).

So on the whole I would call this a clever attack cartoon against Bush, which at first glance may appears somewhat sympathetic. See, it isn't quite as simple as you thought (in your legendary superior mind).

You're a month behind. At the time of that publication, the picture had been put back into the headlines. It was a combination cartoon that in fact does make reference that anti-Bush people were threatening physical violence.

I am glad to hear my superior mind is finally making it into legend. You have no idea how painful it is to deal with the unwashed intellectual masses. Be glad I made an exception in your case (and bookmark it for posterity).

Agreed. Ramirez is a conservative cartoonist, people here are not looking at the message of the piece.

It looks like some on this thread won't be satisfied until one of the few conservative cartoonists with national exposure is fired.

Ready, fire, aim!
