It isn'tjust the papers, I had a co-worker who openly said he wished an Arab terrorist would homicide bomb Dubya.

500 posts and counting, all because people (including Drudge) are too stupid to realize this is a POLITICAL CARTOON, not a call to shoot Bush. And it's ON THEIR SIDE, EVEN!
It's that you have to post something like this that makes me realize how dangerous the Rats are. After all, if people who have been smart enough to be conservative can't understand this cartoon, why would we give unlimited power to all the sheeple in government?
Thank God for the Constitution and First Amendment to it.

"...his cartoons are not the easiest to understand."
Then quite possibly they are not necessarily as they seem? If they require a PhD to understand, perhaps he wants the "obvious" meaning to prevail with the psychobabble to fall back on when his arse is in a sling!

The whole point of objecting to the cartoon is that the Rats will think it is a suggestion.

Yes, I am pointing out how most people who immediately recognize the reference will characterize how the original was perceived and interpreted at the time(rightly or wrongly). That picture(however unfairly, just like with the hijacking of the word 'gay') became the symbol for the myth that the US and S. Koreans were out-of-control bullies, unfairly being judge and jury and inflicting the death penalty without fair trial. Of course I realize that this was a false portrayal of what really was happening in the pick, but that is the insta-punch that the picture ultimately produced.
But also bear in mind, that I think the cartoonist is also trying to rekindle discussion and debate on not just the actual picture alluded to, but also the entire subject of media misrepresentation, slander, and mythmaking. Look at how many here have explained what was really the story behind the Vietnam picture, and how many were not aware of that. Such discussion perfectly leads to the thought that "If the media was dishonest and got away with it then, what are they trying to do now?"
The cartoon unmasks and exposes the media/left tactics and slander on so many levels simultaneously.

The whole point of objecting to the cartoon is that the Rats will think it is a suggestion. As long as the suggestion isn't from Jodie Foster, I think we're alright...

"They have a very short thread on it (10 posts) and only one guy is chortling." I think that's because a lot of them are on this thread.

And leave one less pro-Bush person in the media? I don't think so.
He meant well and that is all that matters in the end.

The premise is rather false don't you think. Sorry but w/ the BBC and soldiers being poped off in Iraq-assasination style I might add-forgive me. Alot of us are properly on a War footing
and react vicerally before seeing the artists breadth of work.

This cartoon crosses the line but they won't do anything to the guy when it's all said and done. The lefties are involved in an all out assault against President Bush and I wonder if the campaign reforms are going to prevent the GOP from equal time when the media makes up news closer to election day.
It's as if they are cheerleading for Saddam and Castro.
