Queasy singled out the democrats with the hard-to-spell dangerously ethnic-sounding names for criticism; that makes him a bigot according to the liberal playbook.

As a name, it's certainly a lot less mundane than Frizzell Gray.

More to come. The white, Dem liberals are riding a tiger. As the minorities take over the Dem party and nominate their own candidates, Kerry, Liberman, Dean, etc. will no longer be calling the tune. They will either follow or be left behind.

Sheila Jackson Lee was just on FOX News blasting President Bush to hell and back for not meeting with the Black Caucus. Democrat candidates deserve what they get from Kwasi, they've stood by for years and not objected when the NAACP indulged in racebaiting blackmail politics. .

The NAACP tolled it's own death knell with that truck dragging ad during the 2000 presidential election.

NOW is on it's last leg too.

Thanks to cable television, the internet, and the explosion of conservative print media, these left wing organizations can't get away with their over the top, hateful attacks on republicans. The spectacle of them spewing their venom on their own, is wondrous to behold.

I think ol' Swami Buffunay has an exaggerated view of his own importance and that of the NAACP. That said, I love it!

Don't forget that not ONE member of the CBC was invited to tag along on W.'s trip to Africa.

When will the NAACP invite President Bush as a guest speaker? I noticed the banishments were limited to a term of nine months. Drats, that doesn't cover the November election.

NAACP President Kweisi Mfume criticized Democratic presidential candidates Dick Gephardt, Joe Lieberman and Dennis Kucinich...saying the three have become ``persona non grata'' among black voters.

Huh. Imagine that, Weezy speakin' for black voters. I guess he imagines they can't speak for themselves, eh?

The NAACP is so openly pro-Democrat that it is de facto a wing of the Democrat party which raises the question of the status of its donors under the new campaign finance law regarding soft money. This question is particularly relevant to corporate donors.

I don't agree. The NAACP and the black vote are critical to the Democrat fortunes. Any substantial group that votes over 90% with one party all the time has tremendous influence on the electoral process. Moreover, the birthrate of blacks for women between the ages 15-19 is more than 150% compared to non-hispanic whites. Demographically, black and minority influence will continue to increase in the future. Far from having an exaggerated view of their own importance, the NAACP has only recently begun to realize that it should start exerting its power and influence. Combined with the predominantly Dem Hispanic vote, minorities are well on their way to becoming a majority. The face of American politics is changing literally and figuratively. The NAACP just fired the open salvo to the Dem white liberals that they won't stay in the back of the bus any longer.

Since when does Queasy speak for all black Americans? I know why the candidates skipped; Queasy was going to hit them full frontal with the reparations question and other things candidates don't want to ever be asked in front of a TV camera. The NAACP is basically a self-perpetuating bastion of racism anyway, continuing to brainwash black voters that they must either "vote black" and follow goosestepping along with their NAACP overlords, or they are traitors. I hope to see blacks abandoning the NAACP in droves and thinking for themselves.

Why can we have a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, but we cant have a National Assc. for the Advancement of White People/Brown People/Red People/Yellow People? I think this is racist.

Also, I thought african-americans felt it was an insult to be called "colored". why does NAACP have any influence at all when their racism is considered?

Oh, rest assured it is only 'white people' and Christianity (and sometimes Judaism) that cannot have a support organization. You could certainly have a National Association for the Advancement of Native Americans or Chinese Ancestry or Islamic Values.

The flaw in your argument is that you equate Blacks and the NAACP. That equation hasn't worked for at least 30 years. The NAACP is yesterday's news as far as most Blacks under the age of 50 are concerned.

Yes, Blacks vote overwhelmingly Democratic, and yes, they are important to the success of any Democratic presidential candidate. However, it is not critical for any of these candidates to appear at the NAACP convention and kowtow to Swami and Jesse and Julian Bond. If a candidate earns the Democratic nomination the hard way (winning primaries), there will be time enough for him (sorry, Carole, but I don't take you seriously) to do any necessary fence mending with Black voters. The smart candidate will do it by articulating positions that appeal to Black voters, not by bussing Swami's posterior.
