True, but as long as it is possible for news media to focus on every single casualty, it can't possibly be a "quagmire". If the casualties begin rolling in at such rate that the media can't keep up with them, then they might be able to use the term "quagmire".
This is true. I have been e mailing requests to the Fox Bagdad reporters to provide better coverage of what is actually happening on the streets. I asked for visits to the souks and commercial areas to let us have a look at real life. I asked the onscreen types to intercede with producers to find some evidence post-Saddam Iraqi life is changed....better or worse.
