'Monkey trial' continues in Roseville
ROSEVILLE (AP) - Nearly a century has passed since the famous Scopes "monkey trial," but Charles Darwin's theory of evolution is still being tested - most recently before the Roseville Joint High School District.
At issue was how high school students should be taught evolution and if competing ideas about man's place in nature should also be included in a science textbook. But after a lengthy debate from dozens of residents and parents, board trustees approved a new science book that presented only Darwin's side of the story. School officials said there is no book on the mainstream market that presents what some call the "intelligent design" theory of evolution - a belief that life did not evolve randomly but instead progressed according to a plan or design. Officials said the book selected is readable and provides material that students will be tested on by the state.

Limited science is no science at all. There shouldn't be a barrier to learning that we see with monkey science.

Roseville... the home of the quietest racetrack in the world. The cars on the track have to be quieter than on the street or the neighbors complain

Limited science is no science at all. There shouldn't be a barrier to learning that we see with monkey science. Inteligent design is NOT SCIENCE.
Even if it is true it is not science.
Maybe it should be studied, but not as part of a science curriculum.
Science is the study of how things work when there is no supernatural intervention.
Once you let in one miracle, there is no rational stopping point to prevent saying everything is a miracle and there are no natural laws.

Janet Reno was the Arresting Officer in the Monkey Trial.
The defendant was charged with flag burning.
The defendant was brought into the courtroom in restraints.
The jury attentively listened to the prosecution's closing arguments.
The court stenographer recorded the jury's findings.

Science is the study of how things work when there is no supernatural intervention. Where does this "law" come from? Who crafted this definition of science? What are the presuppositions contained in this definition? Where does it say that, a priori, only naturalistic explanations are allowed in the debate? Can you demonstrate alternative explanations to "intelligent design?" How do you account for irreducible complexity in nature? More importantly, how do you account for information found throughout nature, especially in DNA?

Where does this "law" come from? From simple logic.
None of your other questions matter.
If we admit divine intervention, can you tell me at what point it stops?
If you cannot, then no "fact" or "mechanism" in nature is safe from being replaced with the credulous "it's a miracle", from gravity and elementary mechanics to the ends of human knowledge.
If it can be a miracle, then it is a foolish waste of time to try to figure out the "laws" that may or may not apply the next time you try the experiment.

And so your position is that chaos can lead to order and complexity. And that information arises from matter. I am afraid you have a very limited view of reality.
BTW- "simple logic" is an unacceptable answer. The alternative to "fact" or "mechanism" is not unexplainable "miracles." Your assertion is that because you can think of no other explanation, "naturalism" is all there is.
With that in mind, can you provide for me the molecular structure of an idea? Is there a chemical compound for love? Can you "see" the radio waves passing through your house? Can you see the wind? All of these are unseen, and yet very real.
Incidently, your explanation still does not account for "information"...it is not a physical element, yet it is there. Your "simple logic" does not account for the immense complexity found in DNA and the universe around you.
Your answer and explanation (more like question begging) is insufficient.

The Democrat League Of Extraordinary Democratic Presidents are now out of political service. Clinton is shown faking illness to get a h--- jobe, FDR is paralyzed, Carter has deformed hands from Habitat work, and JFK has become Christopher Reeve, after decades of revelations.
