Has anyone questioned the SF Chronicle's crowd estimate of 750,000. That is equal to the entire population of SF. Where would you put a crowd of this size along the parade route? Market Street does not provide the room for a crowd of this size as would a place such as the space surrounding the Washington monument in D.C.

Its called "Million Mom Math", a favored equational statisic used by the Democrats to "prove a point" or show how "popular" their event was.
Works like this:
# of people there
Plus
# of people we wish were there
Divided by
# of logical / rational statements made during event.
This will more than likely yield a total equal to (or possibly even greater than) the total before applying the divisional fraction.
Works real well as long as no one checks the facts or does a head count.
