I agree. We forget that India had the atomic bomb back in 1974, but it signed the Nuclear Test Ban treaty along with almost everybody else including the US. India stopped its development. Well, NOBODY else -- not France, the US, USSR, China -- played by the rules and stopped their development. India was justifiably, IMHO, vulnerable at being caught between Pakistan and China, who were obviously allies and sharing technology. If nobody else plays by the rules, why should they? Remember, we are talking about the world's largest free-market democracy caught alone in a region of communists and dictatorships. The US should pay more attention to them or they will be driven to secure their borders in the best way they know how, which might make us scared.
