COLFAX - A Texas man accused of driving alongside another vehicle and killing the driver at random last year pleaded guilty Thursday.

Jimmy Jack Maddox, 27, was sentenced to 52 years in state prison, Grant Parish District Attorney Jay Lemoine said.

Maddox was driving south, passing cars and shooting at them as well as firing at cars traveling north, investigators said.

Clearly not a hate crime, as he was firing at cars traveling in both directions.

I don't see why we need to keep him around at all ---why not just give him the death penalty and end his miserable live?

In LA, 52 years does not necessarily mean 52 years, does it?

Some LA jurors weep at the low socio-economic background of certain defendants and forget the actual crime that was committed.

If this is not a death penalty, what would be? Maybe LA is too lenient with her criminals, just like she is with her corrupt politicians?
