The ‘Right Brothers’ Fly by Road Map
Israel National News ^ | 22 June 2003 | Charlotte West

Two weeks after the iconic image of Israeli, Palestinian and U.S. leaders sealed their Road Map buy-in, over 50 people are dead and hundreds injured, as Palestinian snipers and bus bombers mass-murder-and-maim more Jews, and Israel intercepts them. Ineffectual Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas squeaks he’s not equipped to hunt down terrorists, yet castigates Ariel Sharon, who is well-equipped, for doing so. Odd, since everyone agrees Palestinian terrorists need eradicating so moderates can emerge. “The Road Map is dead,” many declare.

Bush revives it with eight words. “The issue is Hamas. The terrorists are Hamas,” White House spokesman Ari Fleischer told reporters traveling with Bush to Connecticut, giving Sharon the nod to amputate his peace partner’s gangrenous Hamas limbs. Immediately, Hamas promises to ‘only’ mass-murder Jews outside the ‘Green Line’, for now. Somehow, Bush and Sharon are encouraged by this and soldier on, clenching the bloodstained Road Map lurching “peace talks” forward.

“There is no pressure from the United States,” Sharon said of the negotiations. “We have a special relationship based on trust.”

That’s putting it mildly.

It is more like a leap of faith into demon canyon in nothing but a rusty old chopper reclaimed from the Oslo museum. Bush and Sharon have confounded even their staunchest supporters in their white knuckled resolve to just strap on the blinders, ignore all detours, signposts, and bloody killing fields, secure the cockpit doors and fly this dadburned ‘Road Map Thingy’ all the way to the black iron “Palestine Macht Frei” gates, on nothing but the leftover fuel from their first chopper ride together in 1998 as governor and tourism minister. It’s the archetypal wing and a prayer.

This spectacle is made even more breathtaking by diving stealth-Palestinians firing their terror-tantrum payloads, mass-murdering-and-maiming piles more Jews, even while the dark euphemistic vision of “their own homeland” is speeding into reality like a dagger at the heart of Israel. It seems unbelievable that even after all the Palestinian mass-murder and depravity, all they have to do, all they’ve ever had to do, is stop killing Jews long enough to click their heels together and say “There’s no place like homeland …” to be instantly served their very own homeland on a leafy green bed of start-up capital.

Instead, they continue to unleash a macabre Brueghel-esque hell on Israel, claiming they are driven to do so as “frustrated” homeland-seekers.

Jews wanted their own country once, too. And had every right to it. Just as the Allies bequeathed 22 countries to Arabs, so the Jews, always integral to the Middle East, were bequeathed theirs, Palestine. For 2000 years, Jews bore the name “Palestinians”, coming by it honestly when conquering Romans renamed Israel “Palestine”. Some scattered throughout the Middle East becoming simply Jews (not posturing as “displaced Palestinians”), some never left “Palestine”, and many returned. However, no sooner was their inheritance read in the will of the 1917 Balfour Declaration, than 80% (Palestine Trans-Jordan) was given instead to Arabs, and half the remainder offered to more Arabs. Jews were disappointed, but scrambled to secure the remaining dregs, then set to work building, paving, irrigating, planting, scrubbing and polishing, whistling while they worked.

That is a portrait of people who really just wanted a homeland to call their own.

The Palestinian self-portrait is a fake. In reality, for a half century, they’ve used every excuse imaginable to dodge all offers of a homeland. That is because all they want, all they have ever wanted, is all of Israel gone. Gone with the Jews.

Not only does the Hamas charter clearly state that, but a frightening majority of the Arab nation agrees wholeheartedly with them.

Caroline B. Glick, Jerusalem Post managing editor, reports that a recent Pew Global Attitudes opinion poll revealed a startling 80% of Palestinians agreed with the statement "The rights and needs of the Palestinian people cannot be taken care of as long as the State of Israel exists". An outrageous 90% of Moroccans, 85% of Jordanians and 72% of Kuwaitis also agreed with the statement, as did solid majorities in Lebanon, Pakistan and Indonesia.” So, clearly, even with “occupation” and “homeland” addressed, the Arab nation will nurse grievances as long as Israel remains in “their” Middle East.

Arab insistence that the vast Middle East be theirs, all theirs, even though Jews have always lived there, reveals more than a quaint intolerance imbuing infidels with “the cooties”. It bares the dripping fangs of their monstrous intent – ethnic cleansing and greedy expansionism.

Yet, spotting this, the Road Map pilots merely dip a wing and open the throttle further, as if artfully dodging some high trees. “Yeehaw!” We watch, aghast, waiting for the inevitable crash.

Many are outraged that the Road Map rewards terror, even unleashing hundreds of jailed demons as “goodwill” before uprooting a hunk of hard-won Israeli heartland for their terror stomping grounds - which bodes ill for the future of Western civilization versus any group harboring a grievance.

Why are the only two world leaders with the guts to crush “terror” hellbent on flying this melting Oslo contraption, like Daedalus and Icarus, ever closer to the sun?

Some say Bush is aboard, disappointing his Christian right, because he is being strong-armed by the “Arab nation” and/or his own State Department, and that Sharon is under extortionist duress from Bush. Others suspect they are both just paying lip service, knowing that powerful Arab forces will never let it happen. That Bush and Sharon really believe they are doing the only thing possible to bring stability to the region does seem far-fetched.

Somehow, I believe them.

Anyone confounded by this probably believes white is black and black is white - that Palestinians want a state and Israel refuses to give them one. The trick is that the truth is the exact opposite.

Palestinians avoid a homeland because it would negate their excuse for killing Jews and ultimately destroying Israel. Destroying Israel is the sole reason they exist, the reason the Arab nation cobbled together a “refugee problem” after their failed invasion of Israel. Arab “refugees”, significantly lacking even an Arab name, were finally convinced in 1964 to adopt a Roman name they could barely pronounce. Palestinians are not a people; they’re a strategy, deliberately nazified by hate-spewing “clerics”, outside agitators like Hamas, and Egyptians like Yasser Arafat and Edward Said, into angry, self-pitying suicide bombing demons, able to point themselves at any Jew and, with self-righteous zeal in their hearts, shahid vows on their lips, a clear conscience, and proudly in the name of their god, commit not only Nazi-style civilian mass-murders, but suicide. German civilians did not shoot indiscriminately at Jews in their beds and strollers. It took a special group of them, propagandized, trained, socialized, with incentives, to perform the inhuman tasks required of Nazis. Palestinians have been nazified, so transported to Jew-killing nirvana that even schoolchildren risk their lives chucking rocks at tanks, teenagers explode their own bodies to piously mass-murder Jews, and mothers urge their children to suicide just to blow the heads off Jewish babies snuggling in strollers at synagogues.

Palestinians have never wanted to run a state of their own. It’s beyond “Well, it’s not our objective but we wouldn’t refuse one if offered to us” – they have refused. Countless times. They do not want a state. What Palestinians want is to scare Jews away by sustaining a ‘pitiful homeland-seeking’ right to murder their children, while inveigling ways to demographically overrun Israel. A simple mathematical approach: scare Jews into leaving, guilt everyone into letting Arabs in.

It is Israel that wants the Palestinian state. Israel inherited Palestinians when Egypt, Jordan, and Syria threatened Israel in 1967 and lost. Jordan and Egypt successfully lobbed Palestinians into Israel’s court and, when Israel tried to give ‘Gaza’ and the ‘West Bank’ back, refused return serves. It’s no wonder. Turns out they were time-bombs. Game, set, and hide the match!

Time is not on Israel’s side. The Palestinians can refuse a state indefinitely, while pursuing their twin strategies, mass-murdering and procreating, weakening Israel all the while.

Sharon is determined to separate from the Palestinians no matter how much they resist. And he’ll kill every last Hamas terrorist that gets in his way. That’s why he called Bush and said “I’ve got the chopper hitched and ready to go. Anytime you’re ready…” Heigh ho, silver! The chopper blades are valiantly spinning, but they’re battling the same vicious swirling currents that downed Oslo.

Instead of forcing a solution predictably leading to more rounds of fighting, it’s time solutions with a chance of leading to peace were honestly explored.

If Palestinians need their own state, the justifications for it being in Israel are spurious. Although basing their land claim on the demographic contention they are indigenous and dubbing Jews “recent intruders”, the overwhelming evidence is the opposite - that Palestinians are the “recent intruders”, largely comprised of 20th century flotsam and jetsam migrant workers whirling away from core Arab hubs throughout the Middle East, to fringe areas populated predominantly by Jews, in order to avail themselves of economic opportunities developed by the earlier European Jewish migration’s capital and skill, and by the British mandate’s infusion of the same. (Fred M. Gottheil, Middle East Quarterly, 2003).

Even “Southern Syria” Arabs living there centuries never ruled a country there, just as Jews in Iraq for centuries never ruled a country there. If Arabs claim rights to Israel based on merely having houses there, Jews can claim equal rights to chunks of Iraq. Then Arab intolerance to living among Jews could be indulged by simply trading their respective portions of the Middle East. A fair trade would contribute considerably more to ‘peace now’ than suicide bombing, mass murdering, and jumping under bulldozers.

“Oh, that’s a pipe dream,” all say, “the Arab nation will never agree.” That an honest trade, a peaceful remedy, a reasonable suggestion, to settle Arab outcasts in the same manner as Jewish outcasts were settled, is not even on the table, is just more proof that the Arab nation is happy to perpetuate “the problem” as an excuse to persecute Israel. And that is exactly the reason the Road Map is also a pipe dream.

That the Arab nation craftily continues to foist responsibility for “Arab refugees” onto Israel and United States, signifies that formation of Palestine will inevitably plummet Israel back to 1967 or 1973, with wolves at its door and anxiously praying for an Alexander Haig in power to send munitions. Is that Sharon’s “special relationship based on trust”? Who will Israel trust when Bush is gone?

There are only two ways out of this conundrum and neither involves Israel evacuating land won in defensive wars (being sure to cleanse it of Jews on their way out) for the same aggressors still challenging Israel’s existence.

The first, an advantageously unilateral option, is for Israel to reoccupy territory and spend decades actively denazifying them – reforming everything from their textbooks to the speeches in their mosques. And then see.

The second, requiring real peace partners (or persuasive U.S. carrots and sticks), is for the Arab nation to finally take responsibility for re-integrating the refugees they created in 1948. If refugees require their own country, explore an uninhabited part of Iraq, in lieu of Jewish claims; if not, give refugees incentives to “make Aliyah” to any of 22 Arab countries.

The ‘Right Brothers” chopper may make the “Palestine Macht Frei” gates, but peace and regional stability will still be a long way off. To go the distance, they need a Flying Machine built for the longer term, able to navigate underlying issues requiring Palestinian reformation and/or resettlement.

Odd, since everyone agrees Palestinian terrorists need eradicating so moderates can emerge.

Moderates? In the Palestinian leadership...right.

It's not an either/or thing.
A person can support Americas (and this Presidents) foreign policy and still question specific details.
Hence, "Moderates? In the Palestinian leadership...right. "

There are no "moderates" in the PA terrorist group. They are all terrorists. There is nothing "moderate" about Abu Mazen, who denies the holocaust, took part in planning the 1972 Munich massacre of Israeli atheletes, being terrorist Arafat's deputy since 1964, supporting attacks on Israel, and supporting the destruction of Israel.
