[history]
The medical examiner has identified the remains of 1,500 World Trade Center victims, a milestone that represents slightly more than half the number of people killed.
Chief Medical Examiner Charles Hirsch has said his goal is to eventually reach 2,000 identifications, but has acknowledged that could take years as DNA technology improves.
Some remains were burned or otherwise degraded so badly that their DNA may never yield results. Other victims were essentially vaporized in the collapse, and likely won't be found.

I must say...it was sheer idiocy not to have evacuated the South Tower after the North Tower had been hit, especially since it was known that terrorists were determined to destroy those buildings. Who gave the order not to evacuate the South Tower?

Your lack of reasoning and your attempt to turn the 9/11 terrorist attacks into a soapbox against abortion astounds me.

The DNA in about 61 percent of the remains recovered at the trade center was so damaged that it did not yield workable results in initial tests. During the cleanup of the site, which ended about a year ago, nearly 20,000 body parts were collected.
Just 291 bodies were found whole.
The most pieces identified for one person is more than 200.
The grim details.

He was in Office for 8 months You got that right!!! This is all a scheme that the Democreeps dreamed up all because of their hatred of George Bush. Clinton was in office for 8 YEARS and didn't do anything about the 1993 WTC bombing, the U.S.S. Cole Bombing, etc. NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! Why doesn't the media pick up on that? No they just want to listen to the anti-american peaceniks and their lies!

Talk about stupidity, we are talking about the deliberate destruction of billions of dollars of real estate, the loss of the worlds finest financial minds and the deaths of mothers, fathers and bystanders who all had productive lives. Save the abortion dicussion for another post, jerk.
As a stock analyst I can tell you the loss to the financial markets was enormous.Look at any yearly chart from 2001 before you shoot your mouth off.
In memeory of Jim Hopper, friend and neighbor. RIP.

Never forget!
In memory of my cousin Michael Lynch, FDNY, Ladder 4, who gave his life on 9-11 while attempting to rescue people at the World Trade Center.

no...they likely won't be found anymore, but we all knew where they were...in our lungs, and on our dusty clothing.
It is a strange feeling when you wipe the dust off your shoes, then feel the impulse to bring the tissue to a cemetery.
The remains of those hundreds of vaporized people are walking around the world today...in us, the survivors.
NEVER forget.
