and the salaries of many civil servants remain unpaid.

I've heard this before and can't wrap my brain around it. How is it possible for anyone we want to work to not be paid by now? Their salaries are like $20US-- it's ridiculous.

It's interesting that "Chaos in Baghdad" were screaming headlines everywhere, but "Chaos Abating" isn't.

The liberal media just can't stand to report American successes.

I heard an NPR report the other day in which a student at Badhdad University was asked about Iraqi perceptions of the situation in Iraq and of the Americans. He said that the situation was uncomfortable but improving, and that the biggest problem was that expectations were outpacing improvement. He said that Iraqis thought Iraq would become like Heaven when the Americans and Brits arrived.
