Road Map Could Cost Us Our Greatest Mideast Ally-poll of Muslims-they're bent on Israels destruction

A new, worldwide poll of Muslims shows they're still bent on Israel's destruction

"Israel must vanish, Muslims say" blared a headline in the June 3, edition of International Herald Tribune.

And if my fears are justified, that’s where the so-called "Road Map" to peace could lead us.

What that road map ultimately does is weaken our only friend and real ally in the Middle East, and we have to understand that this friend is Israel.

By putting together this road map and even talking about giving the Palestinians a state is telling the world that terrorism wins. The lesson this would teach is that if you terrorize long enough, hard enough and lie enough, then ultimately you’ll get the big dog, the United States, to give in and believe that if we give you your own state you'll be a peaceful country.

Well that’s not what history shows. In 1948 the Palestinians had what amounted to a Palestinian state. What happened? They went to war trying to destroy Israel.

Most Palestinians live in Jordan, which is about 80 percent Palestinian. So they have a state, but they aren’t welcome there.

The fact is that the people President Bush wants to give a state are not peaceful people – they are terrorists. We may call them Palestinians, but we have to remember that they are Arabs, and the attitude of Arabs toward Israel and the United States is one of sheer hostility, as the Pew Research poll reported in the Herald Tribune story reveals.

Reports the Tribune, "Animosity [to the U.S.] is so high that solid majorities in five populations surveyed expressed confidence in Osama bin Laden to ‘do the right thing’ in world affairs." Incredibly, bin Laden was one of the three "leaders" most trusted by the nine Muslim populations surveyed, outranking even UN secretary-general, Kofi Annan. Bin Laden’s confidence rating was matched only by Yasser Arafat, leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization, and Crown Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia.

According to the poll, at exactly the time the Israeli government, under intense U.S. pressure, has accepted the right of Palestinians to statehood, most Muslim populations surveyed believe by wide margins that the needs of Palestinians cannot be met so long as the state of Israel exists.

The poll, conducted by the Pew Global Attitudes Project, questioned more than 15,000 people in May. Muslims in Indonesia, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Palestinian Authority and Turkey were included in the massive poll.

As for the future of the U.S.-sponsored "road map" to peace, the poll showed Muslims convinced that "the rights and needs of the Palestinian people" - Palestinian state or no Palestinian state - "cannot be taken care of as long as the state of Israel exists."

In other words, giving the Palestinians their own state carved out of part of Israel not only fails to insure Israel’s security, it poses a serious threat to the continued existence of our sole friend and ally in the Middle East.

According to the poll, the conviction that no way can be found for Israel and the Palestinians to coexist is strongest in Morocco (90%), followed by Jordan (85%), in the Palestinian Authority itself (80%), Kuwait (72%), Lebanon (65%), Indonesia (58%) and Pakistan (57%).

This is the reality of the situation, and the "road map" to peace flies in the face of it, accepting the naïve belief that satisfying Palestinian demands for a state of their own will somehow remove the ever-present threat to the very existence of Israel.

Keep in mind the fact revealed in the poll – that fully 80% of the population included in the Palestinian Authority – the people who will be the citizens of the Palestinian state - want Israel to vanish. They insist that there can be no peace as long as the country that is ready to give them their own state continues to exist.

The only two men who could have brought real peace were Itzhak Rabin and Anwar Sadat. They’re gone, murdered because the terrorists do not want peace.

Golda Meir put it this way: "When the Palestinians start loving their children more than they hate their enemies there will be peace." Not before then.

We may call them Palestinians, but we have to remember that they are Arabs,

Don't worry, we're all too aware of that fact. ...And anyway, I call they what they are -- misplaced Jordanians.

Bingo. The roadmap makes their job easier.

"the rights and needs of the Palestinian people"

And it's such a pretty gold hammer that the Arabs are using to smash Israel into pieces. It sounds so high and lofty. It's all about self-determination. The poor, pitiful Palestinians oppressed by the IDF war machine. Won't you help us just live productive lives free from "occupation."

The West gripes about how complicated the answer is.

It's not complicated. Stop the terror, or we will stop it for you.

Kick all the palys out of Israel and deny them citizenship..they will be begging at Israels doorstep or will open their doors to Russian Chinese N Korean Vietnamese Cuban and all muslim terror groups..who all hate Israel...

Somebody will get the nobel crap prize (yassir did) and buy a couple of years..of minor terror events (just a few Israeli kids killed at a time)

Israel will be handcuffed from retaliating against a soverign nation (the UN security council will make sure of that)

In the end this so called country called Palestine will be the base camp of all those bent on Israelis destruction

Jeruslame will be their stumbling block & they will break themselves upon..imo

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me 287,431 times, ............

I thought things would FINALLY change after Sept 11. Of coarse not!! I just wish the Isrealis and this administration would stop taking up valuable TV time with news coveredge about thier plight. I have completely lost interest and have nothing but apathy for people so blinded with idealistic ignorance that they can't solve thier problems. Until they find thier brains, I'd like them to just shuttup so I can watch more stories about nekkid women. Unfortunately after the "road map" fails they'll come back in another year or two with a new clever name for thier piece plan to grab the headlines again.

This is a wakeup call for Bush. His base is beginning to see how ridiculous this road map is. If he quit drinking at age 40, he can quit the road map at age 55.

Golda Meir put it this way: "When the Palestinians start loving their children more than they hate their enemies there will be peace." Not before then.

Golda Meir was there - seen it, and done it.

She knew the miracle that it would take for peace in the Holy Land - and the cost.

The destruction of Israel is so interwoven into the fabric of Islam that Muslims love it (the destruction of Israel) more than they do their own children (why else would they cherish sending them on suicide missions to kill Israelis (and now Americans).

The year is 2003. By the year 2103, Islam will still hate Israel. Israel will still exist. Nothing will change.

From the article:

"In other words, giving the Palestinians their own state carved out of part of Israel not only fails to insure Israel’s security, it poses a serious threat to the continued existence of our sole friend and ally in the Middle East."

IMHO, this is true as far as it goes...but consider the "end game"...let's say the Palestinians do get a(nother) state of their own, and only the "original inhabitants" (and not the succeeding 3 generations) are granted any "right of return" to Israeli lands, with the rest them staying in their "own state", and then instead of being a peaceful neighboring state to Israel, they turn out to be a terrorist state...what do you suppose would happen to the "continued existence" of Palestine?

Just a thought! ;)

"Israel must vanish, Muslims say" blared a headline in the June 3, edition of International Herald Tribune.

Then what? What evidence of Jewish harm on arabs will exist if Jews do not exist?

The arab world is built on a fantasy at the expense of reality.

So the U.S. President,
who has sworn to leave no stone uncovered searching for terrorists,
that guy I voted for,
He is going all out to give these people a state next to Israel?

It's too horrible! God save us Americans from what we deserve!
