"I can't respect a law that allows the murder of 4000 innocent human beings a day."

And I respect a law that allows someone who murders innocent civilians by bombing them to be arrested and possibly executed...

there is no way in hell this ever should have been a Federal case. Except to capture a fugitive who crossed state lines, that is.

Maybe you don't understand that the "except" you stated counts. Calling it an "except" is an interesting tactic though.

I can't respect a law that allows the murder of 4000 innocent human beings a day. I consider a society that sits back and allows it to be uncivil.

You have every right and maybe even a duty to not respect any law that you find morally repugnant but you also have to be prepared to accept the consequences of disobeying any law if you choose to do so.

You missed the point. How can I work to change a law (or why would I bother changing a law) that is selectively enforced?

That's what makes the whole abortion issue preposterous -- a person who prays on the public sidewalk outside an abortion clinic violates more Federal laws than one who trespasses on a U.S. military installation, for crying out loud.

That wasn't my point. The poster does not identify this as a Federal UFAP case (unlawful flight to avoid prosecution) -- it identifies the original crime as a Federal case.

Somethings can't be equivocated.

The question to Catspaw is relevant to the thread and is not personal. I don't think anyone asked if she has had an abortion herself.

I didn't miss the point... I agree its silly... But what alternative do you suggest?

Integrity would be lost if law enforcement chose to ignore the laws it didn't like to enforce...

Are you saying that about Ashcroft/Bush? If so, have you written a letter and expressed to your elected federal officials?

Really??? And who would be the authority to do so?

If he was a survivalist, then what could be more practical than scrounging in dumpsters?

Wouldn't that be considered cheating?

There IS forensic evidence that Scott (( peterson )) killed her (( laci -- connor )) in the house, and the latest evidence backs it up.

Police found evidence of blood and Laci's vomit on some toweling used to clean up the murder scene. The vomit is an important component, as it indicates that her stomach contents were mixed with the blood from the wound.

Now that police have been able to examine the two bodies, they can see that there was a massive wound to Laci's abdomen, deep enough to involve the baby's flesh, too.

Don't doubt the forensics on this one, as this is what will seal the fate of the murderer------Scott. He killed her because he didn't want a child, under any circumstances.

These final revelations are obviously what has turned Laci's mother so hard against Scott at this point, and she just wants her daughter's things back.

I agree. But integrity is also lost if law enforcement chooses to enforce laws in an arbitrary and capricious manner.

I have no need to contact Bush and Ashcroft over this. I've got a more powerful weapon at my disposal -- as a potential juror in any criminal case. If I were on the jury in the Federal case against Eric Rudolph, he'd be walking out of court a free man.

I agree it probably is my duty as an American. Many others have given their lives so that I can have "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". Too bad I am too much of a coward.

I will not condemn one that risk his own life for the cause of life, while the rest of us pretend we are getting somewhere after 30 years has gone by.

His victims should consider me a hero. If someone injured or killed a family member of mine, and the Feds ended up filing some kind of asinine "restriction of interstate commerce" charges against him, I'd be more p!ssed off at the Feds than I was at the suspect.

Who was innocent at the abortion clinic? Where is the evidence that he had anything to do with the Olympic park bombing? Was it he, or Richard Jewel?

I guess we'll find out... and if convicted I pray he's sentenced to the full extent of the law, i.e., death by lethal injection...
