Congressman Peter King - Al Qaeda Cells Are Active in the U.S. And Muslims Are Not Cooperating

FOX NEWS WEEKEND.
In an interview between Fox Tony Snow and U.S. Congressman Peter King (R-NY), a member of the Homeland Security Committee, Congressman King discussed the threat of possible future attacks by the Islamic terrorist group Al Qaeda on the United States.
Tony Snow pointed out that Al Qaeda has been emboldened to announce a series of new terror attacks on the U.S. and elsewhere.
But Congressman King said that Al Qaeda was actually on the run and was now forced to attack soft targets within Arab countries and were risking alienating Arab support by doing so. Al Qaeda may try to risk an attack in the United States to show they are still capable. King said.
The war on terrorism is a tough war but we are winning it and we must stay very aggressive and very alert. By Al Qaeda attacking Saudi targets, the Saudis are realizing they can no longer shake hands with the devil by giving money to Al Qaeda on one hand and being friendly to the United States on the other. And they must make an absolute commitment to weed out Al Qaeda if they want to survive.
Al Qaeda has many elements now operating in the United States and that unfortunately one of the real misfortunes is that I dont believe that - the American Muslim Community is cooperating enough with public officials.
Congressman King went on to say: I have spoken with any number of police and federal officials and there is almost no sense of cooperation at all as far as people (Muslims) coming forward from those communities
Whether its Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn or other places in Detroit or around the country, there is no doubt there is a significant Al Qaeda presence in this country, and that it has to be monitored continually.
It has to be crushed. I just wish there would be more cooperation from the Muslim community. I think more politicians in this country should put aside political correctness and speak out and call for more (Islamic) cooperation. I just think that this is to me one of the untold stories of the past twenty-one months since September 11th
I was really expecting a much larger sense of (Islamic) cooperation, and from all I can tell, its not there. So, I think elected officials, the media, and also the religious leaders should be speaking out more.
Lets face it, 99% of the Muslim community are solid people solid Americans. But for whatever reason, they are not coming forward and cooperating.

I agree - it has to be crushed.

Islam seems like an organized crime family rather than a religion of peace!
Seems like the practitioners of that cult are more afraid of retribution from the radicals than an attack against their country.

Then they are not "solid" Americans.

Where are these terrorist cells that government folks SPECULATE upon? Are they under our beds as the Patriot Act reads?

So deport them. You can't deport American citizens.
But you can trump up some charges against them and hire Janet Reno to burn them out!!
To: CROSSHIGHWAYMAN
You can't deport American citizens. First, quite a few of them are not yet American citizens. Two, if you are a naturalized citizen but violate the oath administered when naturalized by aiding enemies of the United States, you could be convicted of treason or have your US citizenshp revoked. In both those cases they could be deported.

Some kind of disconnect going on here by Congressman King methinks. I am not sure how anything, ANYTHING can be 99% unless its Ivory Soap. Which as we all know is 99 44/100% pure. And it floats! But then again so does human excrement which is what this is.

One thing that I think is very strange, however, is this: it is very, very,
very easy in this country to acquire explosives in some form and the ability to deliver them. Heck, just acquire some small companies that use explosive gas cylinders as part of their normal business - welding, for example. It is easy to acquire the components of a fuel oil explosive in small enough quantities over a period of time to "fly below the radar." Yet -- we don't see car and truck bombs going off right and left. Why? My personal theory is this. While the Muslim community as a whole is not coming forward to rat out the Al Queda types, they are also not interested in becoming human bombs, either. Most of them are here because they like the American life style and opportunities, which don't include becoming an explosive charcoal briquette. Nor do they want the radicals in their mosques.
I could be wrong and we might see a whole bunch of this happen at once, at which point the muslim communities will be in big trouble. (But maybe they know this and that is why it hasn't happened, and they are quietly communicating as individuals with the feds; and the congress critters are out of the loop -- who the heck would tell those blabbermouths anything anyway!)

Congressman King: "I think more politicians in this country should put aside political correctness and speak out and call for more (Islamic) cooperation. I just think that this is to me one of the untold stories of the past twenty-one months since September 11th."
Unfortunately, Congressman Tancredo has been about the only one with the courage to 'take point' on the issue, as well as border-security. And Karl Rove and GWB appear to be doing their best to sabotage him. Telling him that 'he will not be allowed to darken their door ever again.' And going so far as to actually be encouraging someone more moderate to challenge him in his district!!!
This personal back-stabbing needs to be outed.

They'll be osctracized and maybe even killed, if they do. Law enforcement will have to strike the first blows all on their own - demonstrate the impotence and ineptness of the organized Jihadi movement, and regular Muslims will lose some of their fear and start coming forward.
