##You didn't mention Judaeism which doesn't even afford him THAT status. But then we could say that Christianity downplays the divinity of God by having God split into three parts, one of which was an eating, breathing, bleeding man.##

Judaism doesn't go out of it's way to downplay Christ's divinity. It's something that they just don't believe in. The Koran specifically rejects Jesus' divinity. It would be like if an even newer testament made Allah a shoe-shine boy. Also, Christianity holds that God is all knowing, loving, and powerful. Jesus came to earth to live as a man in order to teach us (ie, God is so loving that he sent part of himself instead of a mere prophet).

##We are not, in America privey to Islamic history except what comes to us filtered through the lens of Christian Missionaries. A study of the lives of the Companions or of the rightly guided Califs that doesn't happen to be written by a Jesuit monk will show these men to be full of compassion and charity towards their fellow men.##

Really? Because I don't remember too many Christian missionaires doing the reporting on 9-11.

##Simply killing and pillaging would not have created a vast empire that lasted for centuries.##

Tell that to Ghengis Khan.

##Actually, over 40,000 Americans converted to Islam within a year of 9-11.##

Don't forget that there are alot of Americans who hate America. John Walker Lyndh, anyone?

I'll start listening to the argument that Islam is a religion of peace when all the Mullah's, Ayatollah's and followers start screaming from the top of their lungs, from all the mosque's around the world TO STOP THE HOMICIDE BOMBINGS, the Jihad's whatever, where ever! I don't care what the grievance is for prosecuting such a cowardly, homicidal act - IT MUST STOP!

So far all I've heard is a little tsk, tsk, tsk in hushed tones, and usually only to placate the present company of a host or other non-believer aquantance or associate.

If I'm wrong, PROVE ME WRONG, and make sure all the others mentioned do too. Until then, if it's a war you want; war is what you'll get. And we WILL play to win!

Note to Myself: I don't post these next comments in condemnation of Iranians, the only muslims I have ever known closely and in quantity, but will give a slight insight into the mindset of muslims. In 1978 I was serving in the desert kingdom of Iran, in the city of Esfahan. I came in close daily contact with members of the Iranian military and can say, they are 'different'! They condemned us for our beer drinking and wild boar hunting, but loved to come into our dining hall to eat hot dogs and have a cold one - after the sun went down. During ramadan when they were supposed to fast from sun-up to sun-down, they would often accompany me to the American dining hall and say, simply, 'I am sick so I had better eat to keep up my strength'. It was explained to me that eating is acceptable when your health is at stake (sarcasm). One flat out told me that lieing to an 'infidel' was perfectly acceptable if it furthered the cause of their religion. One naive son of a son of a son, asked me point blank how much money he could live on and still have money left for sex with the American women (doesn't this sound like Dan Ackroyd and Steve Martin?). His elders had told him that Americans were lazy, ruthless, and patently impure. Well, this kid was coming to the U.S. to go to college and he wanted to make sure that his parents provided enough money for him to blend in to the college scene and he even wanted to know what type of clothes American men wore to attract women. My point for all this blathering is this. The hierarchy of islam has fed the people a bill of goods, to keep them in line and to not think for themselves. They think, belive, and practice only what they are told. They do not appear to be 'enlightened' but brainwashed.

##Judaic scripture was written before the birth of Christ. That's why it doesn't have anything to say about him. You cannot have read the Koran and come to the conclusion that we make a shoeshine boy of Christ (God help me for repeating your words). Jesus (Peace and Blessings be Upon Him) was a Prophet and a Messenger like Abraham (PBUH) and Moses (PBUH). Those people are the highest expression of God's love.##

First off, Judaic scripture isn't required for the Jewish religion to take an official stance on christ. Second off, a prophet isn't much more holy than a shoeshine boy, especially compared the the divinity of God(blessed be the meek, for they will inheret the Earth).

## The first words of the Koran are "In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful"##

This has little to do with the original comment.

##9-11 was the work of 19 men.##

A hell of alot more than 19 people were involved in 9-11. Al-Quada, the Taliban, and all of their allies share responsibility.

## Ghengis Khan's empire did not last for 6 centuries or even one.""

Khan died in 1227. His empire lasted until 1481.

##There were no thriving settlements of other religions##

Ghengis Khan wasn't a religious leader, never really imposing his religion on anyone. Peoples that Khan conqured (providing that they weren't all killed) mostly just kept their old faith.

To be perfectly frank, there is absolutely nothing about islam that I need or want to know. The cult is absolutely irrelevant.

Things are already bad. Name me one instance of an Israeli going into the Gaza and detonating an explosive device that breaks up innocent people into chunks and gore?

The Islam of the last 30 years teaches hate. This hate theology came from the Moslem Brotherhood of Egypt. As they were arrested and oppressed by Naser, they went to Saudi Arabia, and found a firtle ground in the Wahabis sect. The Saudi inspired hate theology theaches its followers to look back to the barbarian tribal desert life of the stone age. If you don't cover your Moraccan wife head to toe with a tent, a la Afghanistan bananastan, you are not living the new-Saudi Islam. You and your wife and many other Moslems can be very civilized peaceful people; however, the dominant majority of Moslem theology of late is hate, and backward chauvinism.

Without having the guts to see that hate for yourself, and reject it out with all your heart, you may be a closet hater yourself.

Example; a palestinian guy converted to Christianity a few month ago, the Hamas guys killed him, and cut his body to pieces. Ask yourself 1)How many Moslems were outraged about such barbaric conduct? 2) How many time did you see a Christian converts to Islam, and get killed by his fellow Christians?

If you can anwer these two questions honestly, you can determin for yourself whether you are a peaceful Moslem, or a reguler hateting Moslem.

I was running by my local temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints this morning and I wondered why I feel negatively toward them sometimes. Then I realized what they share with Islam. Any "religion" that bases it's theology on testimony from acknowledged liars and thieves, whether they be Brigham Young and Joseph Smith, or Mohammed himself, is in my book a pile of dog crap.

In a country where over 3,000 people were murdered in the span of one hour by muslims, do you honestly expect any sympathy? Maybe the Israelis were correct when they thought about building a wall. Oh, wait, there must be many, many palestinians who adore and love Israel. Would not want to restrict their freedom of movement between bomb-making centers.

(killing and pillaging as an acceptable means of transmission of his "revelation." Plus his offspring and disciples commenced killing each other right away.)
---
The same could be said of Christianity.)

---

While it may be true that it can be said of Christianity one major difference is clear. It can be said of Mohammud but cannot be said of Jesus. His conduct cannot be faulted in any way.

We might also observe that his disciples did not commence killing each other right away. Actually they were murdered for repeating what Jesus said. Nowhere do we see evidence that they spread his word by the sword.

One easy way to see the difference between Chistians and Islamics is to open the phone book in any city in the U.S. and see how many hospitals were built by Jesus and his Christians. How many do you see that were built by Mohammud and his Islamics?

The quality of the tree is known by the fruit that it bears.
