A suspected mobile biological weapons lab has been recovered in northern Iraq, a development that senior U.S. officials said yesterday would lend support to Bush administration allegations of a banned weapons program by the government of deposed Iraqi president Saddam Hussein.

A senior administration official said the Pentagon will announce today the results of a two-week investigation into a tractor-trailer truck that was stolen from a government depot in the northern Iraqi town of Mosul and later handed over to U.S. forces. He said equipment found on the truck included a fermenter bolted to the floor that could be used for the production of biological agents.

P.S. I did multiple title searches and came up with nothing. I'm surprised this isn't already on the forum.

That, and the fact the ComPost is running this story on the front page. Hence the "Front Page News" entry.

Plus, I personally had not heard about the specific equipment found inside, though I imagine that has been reported before.

Maybe they found Mansour "Bubba" Al-Mohammed's clandestine still. ;^)

So you're saying the Bush Administration was secretly helping Iraq in its WMD program? Fascinating!

I hope this one pans out. That said, I think the investigators in the field are top notch and are adopting their commander-in-chief's patience about these things. They'll ignore the impatient naysayers, pull the threads and see where they lead. I expect a lot of secrets about Iraq's WMD to be revealed in the end.

I read my reply to the post over and over and can't come up with that conclusion. But it would be an interesting debate over at DU. I can see it now. Iraq receives "Bioweapons Lab Suspect Port in Mobile, Alabama as Point of Origin"

The equipment was moved north as we attacked from the south. When we were denied access to Northern Iraq through Turkey, I bet Saddam had a bunch of stuff moved north, figuring that we would never get that far..

I've had it with these crafty beavers and their so-called dams. We know what's really going on here. When is the nightmare going to end?!

Me too but I'm gun shy lately. I got trounched the other day by agreeing fully with a poster. I took me and 10 other freepers to get the frenzied person to re-read my reply. Now we're friends.
