Undated-AP -- Little is known about Farouk Hijazi -- the Iraqi spymaster now in U-S custody -- except that he could be the key figure who links Saddam Hussein to al-Qaida.

Hijazi reportedly met with Osama bin Laden before the September eleventh attacks, when he served as Iraq's ambassador to Turkey.

An official of the opposition Iraqi National Congress says Hijazi had an important role in organizing Iraqi sleeper cells in Europe that planned assassinations, smuggling operations and intelligence-gathering.

Hijazi was born a Palestinian. Britain's Guardian newspaper says he won the favor of Iraq's rulers with his zeal for executing their opponents.

Former C-I-A director James Woolsey -- appearing on C-N-N -- calls Hijazi's capture a big catch, saying he was involved in a number of contacts with al-Qaida.

This guy is the scum de la scum.

George Tenet seems to have committed himself irrevocably to the theory that there was no meeting between Iraqi agents and Al Qaeda, and especially no meeting between Mohammed Atta and that Iraqi agent in Prague. I hope that the team that interrogates this guy really goes after the goods, and lets the chips fall where they may. No more coverups, no more protecting clinton's hide.

Hijazi was born a Palestinian

I cannot figure out how one is born a Palestinian. If Hijazi was born in Israel he is not a Palestinian. If his parents were from Egypt (as many Palestinians are) then he is Egyptian. If his parents were from Jordan (as many Palestinians are) then he is Jordanian. I am perplexed on the 21st century creation of a bloodline - the DNA does not support that a Palestinian exists. If it does - then certainly Jesus Christ would be a Palestinian. But Jesus Christ is an Israeli.

Many Democrats insisted there was no connection between 9/11 and Saddam.

They said that Bush should finish off Bin Laden and Al Qaeda before going into Iraq.

I hope this is just the beginning of proving them wrong.
