I was wondering when I would see a post from someone who gets it, Texas Eagle.

This isn't about "hatred" of pets, it's about priorities. Unfortunately, dog lovers, the life of a firefighter trumps the life of a dog, no matter how dear a pet.

You can always buy another dog. You can't buy a wife a new husband, nor a kid a new daddy.

No firefighter lost his life, the dog was saved, and everybody's happy, except a couple of bureaucrats.

And don't give me "might haves." Deal with what actually happened here.

What's the problem with what Martin did?

Did you even see that actual video of this "daring" rescue?

The guy never entered the building. He simply broke the glass door from the outside so the dog could get out. All was done in full view of the firefighters.

You're going just a little over the top on this one.

The firemen weren't in the building at the time. No lives were in danger except the pet and his owner. Had there been firefighters inside I would agree with you. I saw the movie backdraft, I know what "could have" happened. It's not like this guy does this at every fire. His emotions were running high. A pet is like a child to many people (although with less money being spent on dental care) give him a break.

It's not the firefighters who are at fault here, but the police. The homeowner in this case accepted the personal risk involved in rescuing his dog, knowing that the firefighters were busy looking for people. The cops have no right arresting him for this, and their case will be laughed out of court.

Understood, but this guy saw, i repeat SAW his dog at the window trying to get out. Don't tell me if this was your precious pet, you wouldn't be angry and go in after him yourself..... the fact that no one was hurt should make this issue dissapear! totally ridiculous argument....
