Bush made a good choice. In addition to publishing scholarly works on Syria and Islamic terrorists, he wrote Conspiracy in 1997, a book that exposes the fallacies of conspiracy theorists.

Finally! The silent Muslims speak out against the Islamicist front groups like CAIR and speak up for Pipes. That's good news.
To: JeepInMazar
I'll bet PBS/NPR just hates this.......didn't they "blacklist" him?

I think you mean Steve Emerson.
This is an amazing story. Moderate muslims are coming out of their closet. And, they are welcome.

I would like to be optimistic but historically, I can't seem to find any proof "moderate Moslems " exist, at least not in the mainstream of the Moslem world.

I can't seem to find any proof "moderate Moslems " exist You bring up a good point. Currently I am thinking that a "moderate Muslim" or a "moderate follower of Mohammed" would be much the same as a "moderate Christian" or a "moderate follower of Christ".
Moderate Christians don't believe the Bible is the word of God, don't really believe in the historical miracles recorded in the Bible, Jesus is not the only way to God, etc.
In other words, moderate Christians in the end are not really followers of Christ.
I supposed moderate Muslims would be those who don't really believe Mohammed is a prophet of God, thus are they really Muslims?

The editor of the site that ran this piece is not only "moderate", but he loves this country and trashes the radicals whenever he gets the chance.

Islam is an inherent evil and violent religion, however, there are good Muslims who choose to ignore the hateful and violent aspect of their faith. I guess that if there can be those who call themselves Christian and homosexual, there can be those who call themselves Muslim and non-violent.

Look for Daniel Pipes to be Borked in the Senate for his lack of "sensitivity" to Muslims. He is not PC. The Administration will have a fight on it's hands.

If he is Borked in the Senate, then maybe Pipes views will get more attention, which will be good.

I supposed moderate Muslims would be those who don't really believe Mohammed is a prophet of God, thus are they really Muslims?I call them "Moslem agnostics" or "cultural Moslems". They may believe in Islam on the surface, but they haven't read the Koran much, nor have they studied Islam or been exposed to the antisemitic speeches in the mosques. I am suspicious that some of these outspoken moderate Moslems are really radical Moslems masquerading as moderates because those who don't fight physically in the jihad are supposed to fight in the war of propaganda. The real moderates might not want to attract attention to themselves because they also fear the radicals.
