"I like your kind of people: drive a company under for the sake of a silly lawsuit!"
I triple dog dare you to say that to the family of someone who was on the Pennsylvania flight to their face. You don't have the cahones to do it. You're just another keyboard warrior.

Long before France showed its true colors I prefered good old Boeing products. I believe in supporting home town companies, and Boeing = Seattle. That and my husband stating he wouldn't fly for Jet Blue because he doesn't trust the Airbus. It's his butt on the line in the cockpit and if he wouldn't fly it that's good enough for me.

Refer to post #182. If you can not read all of that, get an 8 year old in a home schooled environment to do that for you.

He gleefully continued growing his company with acquisitions.Carty gave TWA employees an extra 24 months of work, which they would not have had had TWA simply been allowed to go out of business.
And, of course, you leave out 9/11, which has blasted every airline, including SW, which has reduced its schedule.
My anger comes from Mr. Carty springing this TA on the unions (people - fathers, mothers, etc...)...when he did it, and how he did it. If he saw AA sliding into the bankruptcy door, why didn't he allow for enough time to handle this like a professional?
Are you kidding? He's been talking about possible bankruptcy for an entire year!
If the unions didn't see this coming, then it's their fault.
He could have simply not put a TA on the table, declared bankruptcy, as US Air did, and restructed the airline.
Carty didn't. He's trying to save some jobs and incent employees to help.
Blaming Don Carty for this is myopic.
Delta, Northwest and Continental are next.

There may not be anything left to sue. So, what's the point of being greedy AND stupid?
To: Beck_isright
You just made it. Thanks.

Have you actually read about this "generous financial offer"???? It is 1 million dollars. Payable over 20 years. Not tax free. That averages about $32,000 per year. If your wife or husband was earning $125,000 per year, do you think that is really fair?

Southwest's pilots are independently unionized, and while its overall labor costs are just slightly below average, they are more efficient because they fly far more hours than those at other airlines.

I pray my friends won't lose their jobs and if they do, I pray the Lord will help them find another one quickly.
God bless you today. Have a good one.
