This is a trap. Don't go near it.

Now that the war in Iraq is over, the war here domestically has begun. Watch for the left, and 'true conservatives' (whoever they are) to go after GWB as much as possible.

As for the article, I agree with most of it. What so many folks here on FR forget is that you don't have to agree with everything the man does. Even better, you can disagree with him on various issues- as most of us have, and still support him. But for some here on FR, that concept is too complex to grasp.

Yes, it's quite obvious now that it's an attempted trap.

But that's OK.....with what's going on in the real world (with which this poor fellow obviously has NO contact)...... with the tragedy of years of totalitarian brutality just having been ended by the liberation of an oppressed people......people not incidentally oppressed by one who worshiped Stalin....... because of the courage of this President, and with what is going on in my own life, and my personal investment in this war, I find this inane discussion an amusing diversion.

9/11/01 Close to 4,000 people are killed when our nation came under attack..and terrorism became our number one enemy.

In a VERY short 18 months:

Our nation has fought TWO wars...TWO... against terrorism abroad, and apparently won both and seriously crippled both the Saddam regime and the Taliban/Al Queda network.

We have come to grips with the need for Homeland Security and made huge strides towards a more efficient modality which has thwarted many attacks (and probably many we will never hear about).

A world-wide coalition of literally hundreds of countries has been put together to hunt down the communications, training sites, and financial network that supports terrorism.

Not too bad.....in a VERY short 18 months, huh?

But you watch, the bile faucet, which has been turned off the past few weeks, will be turned back on with a vengeance. A "righteous" vengeance with the sole purpose of disruption, imo.

You are absolutely correct. I think the president would be the first to say that this is a FREE country and he certainly knows folks will disagree with him at times and on different issues.

You are very right. For instance, I still disagree with some of his tariff policies (steel tariffs, anybody? blech), I'm not as concerned with the abortion issue, and I get antsy about the Patriot Act.

Watch for the shills and the paleo-conservatives to attack Bush. Watch for the rise of the neo-conservatives -- "compassionate conservatives", if you want, although I hate the term. I consider myself a neo-conservative/small-l libertarian, but, at the end of the day, a good conservative, neo or paleo, and I am amazed on a day-to-day basis with Bush, and moreover, the administration's ability to deal with problems with a new level of flexibility in strategery. ;-)

But make no mistake, your warning should be read and re-read. The rats, of demo or other variety, will begin coming out of the woodwork very soon.

i know your exasperation. I have a good friend who says he won't vote for Bush because of the assault weapons ban. I at least have gotten to to send some emails off. But it's far too easy to complain that this guy isn't conservative enough than it is to actually try to influence other voters, leaders, etc. I think we need to hold Bush's feet to the fire privately and extoll him publically. That will get us what we want!

>>>Watch for the left, and 'true conservatives' (whoever they are) to go after GWB as much as possible.

So-called "'true conservatives'" = fringe extremists, AKA: libertarians, Libertarians, Constitutionalists, paleoconservatives, Reformers and all the other disgruntled types, the malcontents, the misfits and the militants.

President Bush will have the loyal Republicans, the "real" conservatives and the right thinking independents on his side, and he will ride that political coalition to another victory, in November 2004.
