United for our troops April 26, 2003 Support for Our Troops Sponsored by United for our troops 11:00 AM Grant Park in downtown Chicago
Our point is to show support for our troops and their families. This rally is not meant to oppose "Anti-War" protestors, rather it is to show the world, our troops, and ourselves that we can be united in one voice. We support those troops in the front line, those who have loved ones in the front line, those whom have lost loved ones in the line of duty and to pay respect to those who have made this country what it is today. We want families and friends to come together and support one another and show that we as a diverse America are united for our troops!
As you can see, we are not an organization, we are friends, wives, husbands of Soldiers, Airmen, Marines, Seamen and Coastguardsmen that love them and appreciate their sacrifice. May the troops overseas see this unity and feel appreciated and motivated!

I have gotten email from a few people inquiring about this rally. Problem is I know nothing about it? No one here does. It says to call me for suggestions, problem is I do not know who me is, I've been trying to find out via several emails so we can organize our Chicago Chapter to hook up. I found this on the front page for rally info on Support Our Troops, on the freerepublic network, clicked on the Illinois map and voila.
It is Sponsored by United for our troops and I cannot find them under Yahoo search engine,they say they are not an organization, so where did this announcement come from? Many questions we need to know.
Like who called this rally, are there speakers, is there any type of organization, is there a permit? Etc.
Anyone with any info please post here, otherwise we will be scattered all over this rally as opposed to being Freepers ;(

The same announcement is on the FRN site when you click on Illinois but I can find no information on a "United for our Troops" group or any contact information. It just says "please call me" but doesn't say who or where.

Seems curious to me. I know we tried to get Grant Park, the area by Buckingham Fountain, for our rally; but, the City wanted some outrageous fee up front. RW9 has the details of exactly what they wanted.
