It wasn't a failure to not catch Osama. It's difficult to catch someone who has vapourised from a Daisy Cutter.

So what if Hitler is alive in Asuncion, Paraguay?! Sheesh, these scribblers invent their own dramas and mysteries.

Although finding Saddam dead would be preferable to NOT finding him, or learning he's alive somewhere we can't reach him, I'd much rather our guys caught him alive.
Since the Turks OWE us at this point, maybe they'd make amends by putting the bastard in one of thier prisons. I think they have some very appropriate places for Saddam to finish out his days, although they'd no doubt need help with security!

I still think the earlier reports of Uday being beaten by Saddams body guards because he had gone into a violent psychotic episode. He was accidently given a brain hemmorage, of which he died.

Embarrassed by their continuing failure to track down Osama Bin Laden, the Al-Qaeda leader, President George W Bush and other senior administration officials have recently been playing down the significance of the hunt for Saddam. What kind of crappy "objective" reporting is that?
Imagine a news article, not an editorial, stating: "Embarassed by his continued failure to deal with Osama bin Laden, Bill Clinton has no comment on the bombing of the Cole....."
Think that would ever happen?

"It also became clear that regional commanders were lying through their teeth when reporting back to Baghdad about the progress of the war, American officials said. Iraqi generals talking to Qusay on satellite and other telephones boasted about inflicting heavy casualties and assured him that American tanks had been forced to retreat from Baghdad airport. "Maybe Baghdad Bob was just repeating what he was told.

You must get your hands on the current Vanity Fair. David Rose has a story on the brutality of Ouday. It was spell binding in light of cnns sins. I never read the mag except to scan the ads but my wife convinced me to read this piece...
