CRAVEN NEWS NETWORK

CNN chief news executive Eason Jordan yesterday revealed that his network had refused for years to report what it knew about Saddam Hussein's murderous atrocities - even against its own journalists. This astonishing confession doesn't just undermine CNN's claim to be "the most trusted name in news" - it wreaks incalculable damage on all journalists' ability to be trusted by the American people.

Did anyone see the bit on Fox News where the departing Iraqi U.N. Ambassador starts to get into his car - then comes back to give "Richard" of CNN a goodbye hug?? I thought it spoke volumes....no "hugs" for Fox from Iraq......

I saw that replayed on FNC. They pointed out that they didn't get a hug, and were proud of it.

Since CNN is finally spilling their guts, I wonder if they will finally reveal that Christiane Amanpour is a man.

The excuse paraded as explanation that Jordan published is demonstrably false. If CNN knew of the true horror of Saddam's regime, why did they spend so much effort in sabotaging Bush's efforts to bring regime change to Iraq. There was a pro-America rally in Atlanta directly across the street from CNN center, which CNN was forced to show. They "balanced" the news of the 25,000 supporters by coverage of 250 commies down the street. Other pro-America rallies were either not shown or minimalized as much as possible, while "anti-war" pro-Saddam rallies topped the news for the WEEKS leading up to the war, and even the first week of the war.

If CNN knew about the evils of Saddam's regime, one has to ask, why did they do everything in their power to turn American opinion against regime change?

Last nite I was visiting w my folks.....and had to watch CNN with them (I was unable to commandeer the remote and switch to FNC)

I sat thru endless rehashings of "looting" stories and Richard Toth being kissed by the Iraqi UN Ambassador. I think my folks got tired of my comments of "liberal swill", "Crescent News Netowrk", and "obviously the Iraqi Amb. isnt kissing the Fox News people"

Then....it was an hour of the talking wax-figurine, Larry King. Boring anti-American propoganda

Then....Aaron Brown "I think I'm so witty, dont you".....no Aaron, youre not witty.....I have some other desciptive words for you, but this is a family forum.

The CNN tone is so anti-American...although they had one former General on who seemed supportive of our forces. He was the only one (forgot the name)

FNC is the only one worth watching

Maybe this hiding of info about the Saddam regime is a ruse.....that maybe they really believed Saddam instead of some of their own employees and journeymen

It does reek of treason...especially when they ignore public support and public opinion

This reminded me of Ted Turner's instruction to cnn staff in the network's early days that they would not use the word "foreign" on the network, since that would imply that those other countries were...well, foreign. I hope that Jordan realizes fully that he could have saved lives and that it haunts him more and more as the years go by. cnn (no capitals) should never live this down and should learn from this - but it won't. I'd much rather watch Fox, a network that's obviously pro-GWB than cnn that's clearly been (and still is) pro-Saddam!

Can what CNN did be called; "Aiding and Abetting Human Rights Abuses" and should there be a congressional committee to investigate it?
