The three-star flag actually predates the Ba'ath regime (it orginally represented Iraq, Egypt, and Syria, which were supposed to form the United Arab Republic). The Ba'athists changed the interpretation. Thanks, Galahad.

It was in Erbil

The best day, Nam! (^:
Heading over to the Freepathon thread to make my meager additional quarterly contribution...and very grateful to Jim Robinson and fellow Freepers today!
Justshe, great idea adding the fundraising link. Someone broke it, though. It wasn't me...yet. Thank you for taking care of business. Hope you're all having as big a party as we are at the war thread today.

I'll repeat what I said about Engle. The last time I saw lips like his, a baby lamb was coming out of them. That may be the funniest thing I have read all year. Bwa ha ha ha ha!

Rush is now listing the anti-American pundits...Jennings, Dowd, Scheer...says, "It's tiresome. The good news is you can put them in a tiny little neighborhood that's not very large, walled off from the rest of America." Calls them irrelevent. Heh.
****
Did Rush read my comment a few hundred posts ago? I said that WE ARE THE MAINSTREAM.
LOL!

I'm going to write to Liz and Annie at ABC and tell them about all we saw of Richard's "prep" work for his air time! Maybe copy a few of the comments on these threads and, of course, tell her about
Richard Engle = Pretty Boy = Mr. Chicken = Pretty Chicken
I have a feeling Liz might get a kick out of it. Oh, how I would like to see his face when he finds out!

Thought you might want to see how the Arab street likes today's action...
A Jordanian in Amman cover his face in front of a television showing a U.S. Marine cover the face of a statue of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein with a U.S. flag in Baghdad April 9, 2003. Jubilant Iraqis tied a noose around a huge statue of Saddam Hussein in the heart of Baghdad and pelted it with shoes as the Iraqi president's 24-year rule collapsed in chaos. In scenes reminiscent of the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, crowds cheered as men climbed the huge statue of Saddam in the center of Baghdad and placed the rope around the neck in preparation to topple it. No CNN, MSNBC, and certainly none of the leftist 3 networks. They would suffer withdrawal symptoms .... heh he heh.
LOL! After having been liberated myself from three years of liberal tripe from the aforesaid channels I am easily irritated by those who continually lift up these so-called American media outlets when they allow one of two token conservatives on board. Let them be deluded. It is their loss.

I was just thinking...all the networks are replaying the statue coming down. Fox is smart..they ought to replay the first moment the tanks rolled into the square. Lots of people wanted to see that moment.
(I just happened to wake up about 45 minutes before they got there...yippppeeeeee!)
