I'm so confused...I just walked in on the TV and feel like I'm watching a replay of the first night of the war...I thought they were probably dead already? :)

I doubt they have much command structure left in Baghdad now. I thought he had been killed earlier myself. Maybe they got another double.

IIRC - a lot of people read into what the administration was saying about that first strike on the 19th. I only recall them saying it was a leadership target. Although they did say that Saddam was thought to be there they were very cautious about what they said. Possibly hurt..no way of knowing if dead...people digging out rubbble, etc etc.

Over the past 2 weeks, many of us have convinced ourselves that Saddam must have been killed that night because of the ridiculous videos and others supposedly reading what his orders are.

NOW - tonight senior administration officials are telling all news outlets that they believe they got him today. That is a far cry from what they were saying after that first attempt 2 weeks ago
