Not to belabor this on this thread, but, bvw, you cannot possibly be serious.

Pollard was not JUST sentenced for information he gave about Saddam. It was more than that, and you know it. And OTHER CHARGES were dropped to get a deal so it ALL wouldn't be exposed on national TV -- which I am SURE would have suited Pollard just fine; he'd already BETRAYED his country to another country, why not share all its secrets with the entire world.

You're making it sound like he did it for some noble reason, when, in fact, he did it FOR MONEY.

And you can whine all you want to about how long he's served; most of us believe he should have been SHOT on the spot and are fine and dandy with the government making an example out of him.

He should rot in hell. Surely you must be able to find someone besides a despicable traitor to champion.

"Avoid belaboring" ... that's a good motto too. The case record is clear. Pollard initially acted because of the Saddam thing -- the money, that came too -- he did reach for it -- but the provoking thing was the danger a cabal in the highest reaches of OUR government had put Israel, and US (as it turns out) into by dealing with a murderer.

The Constitution reserves the word "Traitor" for application upon those who offer aid and comfort to an ENEMY. Saddam and his regime -- and the other the terrorist tyrants and states -- THOSE are our enemies. And it was NOT Pollard who offered aid and comfort to OUR enemies, as it has turned out.
