Iraq Weather & Maps - 04/07/03
Thanks, I fired that quote right off to some family members. What a great retort.
Former United Nations weapons inspector Scott Ritter believes the government's reasons for going to war in Iraq are unfounded. Ritter, speaking Friday night at Pomona College, said the U.S. went to war based on assumptions that Iraq has chemical, biological and nuclear weapons, which he believes Iraq does not possess.
Former naval intelligence analyst Jonathan Pollard confessed to passing classified documents to Israel without authorization between 1981 and 1985. For this, he was rightly sent to prison for espionage. People who spy for allied countries and who spare the U.S. government the revelations of a trial usually get sentences averaging four years. What extraordinary things, then, must Pollard have done to draw a life sentence?Alger Hiss was right about Hitler, but he was still a treasonous SOB.
"For your information, the Israelis used Pollard to obtain our attack plan against the U.S.S.R. all of it. The coordinates, the firing locations, the sequences. And for guess who? The Soviets."

I'd like to ask for you to lift up in prayer both the soldiers and family members of the HHD 2d BDE/ 3d ID while we wait for news regarding an incident earlier today (see Two US soldiers and two journalists killed in rocket attack south of Baghdad). I specifically would ask that you pray for a peaceful heart for one young wife whose husband is a member of the brigade TOC.
As you may know, Greg Kelly has been traveling in an armored command vehicle for the past few days. That vehicle is part of the brigade command post and this young lady's husband is in that vehicle. If you've watched any of Greg's video from the past few days, you've seen this young man without knowing who he was.
Due to the spotty reports coming out of Iraq, at this point we're unsure of his status. At the very least, if the reports are in any way accurate, men that he works with are dead and injured. This is weighing heavily on her and the other families at the moment.
There will be a prayer service for members of the unit tonight at Ft. Stewart while they wait for news. Your prayers this afternoon and evening would be appreciated.
If you should come across any press reports on this particular incident, please ping me. We're trying to get information through military channels but any information at this point would be useful.
I'm sure you'll understand that up until now I thought that imbedded reporting was a great idea. God forgive me for not seeing how much it impacts the families.
Well, it doesn't appear intervention is necessary, since you've brought yourself down to two exclamation points.
It's past noon??
