LOL I like it. Of course an Abrams tank rolling onto the set in the middle of one of his stupid machismo blatherings would be sweet, too.

Which Iraqi official wants to tell Saddam (or whoever is in charge) that the Airport is lost? Keep in mind, the messanger will be killed if he brings bad news. Which Iraqi "general" is going to tell Saddam ALL the military permutations. Keeping in mind anyone who suggests the Republican Guard is no longer in existence will be killed? Which General is going to say they lost the Airport when reporting that loss will be his death?
The generals are buying time because they will probably live to surrender to US forces. Saddam (or whoever) is not so nice.

BAGHDAD, Iraq, April 5 - Senior Iraqi officials remained defiant today in the face of American military might, asserting that Iraqi soldiers and suicide bombers had "crushed" American troops at Baghdad's international airport and broken the American advance on the capital into isolated pockets that were surrendering to relentless Iraqi attacks. Man, it sounds like we are well and truly screwed over on Bizarro World.
I think we're doing OK on this one, though.

These cartoons and funny statements are the greatest.
One of the defining attributes of our culture is our ability to put things into humorous contexts. (Of course, we are solemn and respectful when required.)
The contrast between us and the shouting, screaming, growling "enemy" (including anti-American Americans) is profound.
They will never understand us. Our ability to make fun of them is one of our great strengths (while their hatred-filled rhetoric is one of their great weaknesses).
