United States military units have reached the outskirts of Baghdad.

Officals said the first United States Army and Marine Corps Units reached the southern edge of the capital late Sunday/(Early Monday)

They said the units were conducting probing missions to determine the extent of the Iraqi defense around the city.

The United States forces are also meant to ambush Republican Guard divisions that are withdrawing fron their current positions toward Baghdad, officials said.

I love that word "probing".

What that really means, is we are hitting them with everything we've got to see if anyone is still alive in there.

If they answer, we fire some more. Then we see if they still answer.
