Joan Ryan is a Left Coast bimbette who's really lost it. Gee the truth hurts huh? Calling into Rush Limbaugh is liable to leave you vulnerable to being converted. No wonder Leftists hate talk radio.

Like all totalitarians, Joan equates criticism and opposition with the stifling of dissent. Since nobody has the right to stifle dissent, the real purpose of this "Amendment X" nonsense is to silence criticism and opposition, that is, to do the very thing the totalitarians pretend to condemn. Two generations of Americans have been brainwashed to believe in "Amendment X", the right of leftists to be free from opposition and criticism*. Out here in the hinterland, typical pop-culture lefties and retro-reds may not know Che Guevara from Chico Marx, but they will invoke their right of free expression as an automatic response to criticism, necessarily implying that their rights have been attacked. These people, all of them, literally believe that other points of view are criminal and should not be expressed. It is what defines them. Why else do they invariably equate opposition with a violation of their rights; that is, with a common-law crime?

The left is evil, folks, the spawn of Satan. I use words for a living and I used to be a lefty, but I still cannot find adequate terms to express my disgust with these murderous swine and their calculated arrogance.

*Amendment X also grants lefties the right to an audience and the right to be taken seriously.

The lefties tend to become hopelessly tangled in their metaphors when they are out of power.

The real odd thing is that having preached it and demanded it, and for so long ENFORCED it on everyone, they havent learned tolerance.

Their dilemma stems from the fact that we have heard, understood, and Rejected their message. Thats why there are so many 'right wing' talk show hosts 'polluting' the airwaves. It seems that 'Amendment X' not only demands their right to speak, and not only their right to be heard, IT ALSO DEMANDS THEIR RIGHT TO BE OBEYED.

Im glad these people are no longer in power.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am one of the "halfwits in headsets" you condemn so roundly. I am also a civil rights attorney who practices in the US Supreme Court, and a radio talk show participant who has been on-air at least weekly, for seven years.

I invite you to come on-air with me out of Boston, and face my audience with your views. I offer a return match, to go on-air with you on the station of your choice in San Francisco, and face your audience with my views.

I believe in the First Amendment. It is my specialty in the Supreme Court. If you also believe in the First Amendment, you will accept my offer.

I got a reply from Joan Ryan to my challenge (post #64) for a home and away series on talk radio. Here it is:

"thanks for your kind invitation. since i have never heard your show, i can't say i was writing about you. all best, joan"

Now, let's translate. 1) She attacked everyone in talk radio on the conservative side as "halfwits with headsets" whether she's heard them or not, but says she doesn't mean me because she "hasn't heard my show." And 2) she refers to my invitation as "kind," but she DOESN'T accept it.

What are we to make of this? I think she's a hit and run lefty, and is afraid to go on-air with a capable guy like a well-prepared and experienced Freeper. Seems that Ms. Ryan's game is to take a cheap shot and then run for the hills. Is that the name of that tune?
