I posted this on another thread, but it bears repeating. My husband and I sent the following email to MSNBC and Nationa Geographic. When we were active duty we couldn't say much, but we're retired now so here we go!

MSNBC and National Geographic,

One of the things we appreciate about this country is freedom of speech. However, when a reporter goes on Iraqi TV and flat out lies in order to give aid and comfort to our enemy in wartime, a line has been crossed. We don't know what Arnett's motive was, but we find his words revolting. What Peter Arnett did was not reporting, it was editorializing. He has crossed a line and is very clearly not objectively reporting what is going on in Iraq.

This display on Iraqi TV was digusting, if not downright traitorous. If he were speaking the truth we would say his comments were ill advised and ill timed; however, he was spewing opinions disguised as fact in an apparent deliberate effort to harm the United States. If he is that enamored of the Iraqi regime and so distasteful of America, we recommend he remain in Iraq when this war is over because he sure won't be welcome back here.

We certainly don't need to watch National Geographic programs, and we can easily reprogram the remote control to SKIP all NBC stations when we surf for news. If this is the kind of propaganda disguised as reporting that you support, then we reserve the right to choose other programming and news sources.

Shame on Peter Arnett for his deliberate misinformation and outright lying. And shame on you for giving him a platform to do it. No wonder MSNBC is a dismal THIRD behind FOX and CNN.
