I saw Peter Arnett being interviewed by the Iraqi government-controlled TV station. I was appalled at his cooperation with the brutal Iraqi government and his on-air admission that he was purposely focusing upon the tragic yet unavoidable collateral damage in this war in order to effect public opinion back in the United States. Would that he would pay a little more attention to the captured coalition soldiers being tortured and executed by the Iraqis, the Iraqi civilians that are being murdered by their government for even waving at coalition troops, etc. But, no, he's more interested in the accidental damage and deaths in order to advance his own anti-American agenda. This admitted behavior is not only treasonous (aiding and abetting the enemy) but it also demonstrates that Arnett has forgotten the basics of true journalism. He has sacrificed his own credibility and that of his employers and those who air his biased reports so that he can aid the enemy Iraqi government in their PR efforts.Peter Arnett deserves neither to be aired by any news network nor to be employed by any other media outlet. Allowing his biased reports to continue or to continue employing him seriously damages any news or media organization's credibility. I will not watch NBC or MSNBC until they announce that they will no longer be associated with Peter Arnett nor air his reports. Neither will I purchase or view any National Geographic product or program until Peter Arnett is fired.
