In gang-style warfare, the informer is the ultimate weapon. I also think that Baghdad will be crawling with webcams when the troops go in. Maybe they will establish satellite communications so that you and I can help watch for snipers, sitting at our terminals at home. All the paunchy vets who yearn for the front will be in heaven.

War is entirely about public relations, and requires a sophisticated PR strategy.
In WW II, we had an Office of Censorship and an active propaganda effort which were essential to victory.
Napolean said, "In war, the moral is to the material as three is to one". Allowing CNN and ABC to define the moral components of the Iraq war is a serious error.
