Some United States Marines are reportedly running short of food and ammunition.
Others have been pinned down for days trying to clar Iraqi resistance.
But United States Central Command Headquarters insists that everything in Operation Iraq Freedom is going fine.
'Our plan is working, and we are one day closer to achieving our objectives Brigadier General Vincent Brooks said at a daily breifing.
Reporters in Central Iraq have said that some units are running short of food, fuel and ammunition, much of which was expended battling an Iraqi army the brass and some politicans hoped would melt away.

Seeing as how the Iraqi's have been taught that Marines are cannibals, running out or MRE's should not pose a problem. That is, unless you are an unlucky Iraqi invited to dinner.

The media is really making me want to puke over this. Here we are a little more than a WEEK into it, and the media would like to spin it like Washington's troops at Valley Forge - starving, suffering, barely hanging on.
For goodness sake, these are hardened, well-trained combat troops - missing a few MRE's aren't going to hurt them. I would be embarrassed to think the the mighty US military could be as wimpy as the media tells us - almost makes me think the French military IS there in disguise after all!
If anything, I'd be willing to bet some of the dopey CNN/BBC embeds are getting whiney after 8 days without a bath, shave and "real" food. Ergo, that HAS to mean the troops are equally incapcitated.
Heaven help us.

I hope they have enough candy and nylons to trade.

That AND once again the MSS syndrome(Media Shows Stupidity) rears its ugly head!
The writer has NO clue about HOW, WHERE, and WHY Marines are trained as they are....
Dad of active no hyphen, active duty, AMERICAN Marine.

"That's more than enuff... I could never get more'n two MRE's down my neck in a day... that's plenty of calories..."
Actually, I believe the troops are getting the new RCW-30 ration developed for the special op's folks which amounts to 4500 calories/day!! (3 meals)

This report came from CBS that missunderstood a commander saying we seldom have a enough TIME (not food) to eat. The actual quote was "the Marines were running out of SEX". They can do without food or water. But no sex, that' makes 'em mad...

The troopers eating only two MREs a day probably wish to have a bowel movement more than once every two weeks.

What a crock, ever heard of air drop? This is complete BS.
about 20 minutes ago an embedded Fox reporter said they are low on food but good on fuel and water.

Illbay, as usual, you are an idiot if you think it's all that easy... I've been there and done that, unlike you. That's the usual means, but to you armchair commandos it's all too easy, huh? To the grunts under fire, it doesn't work that way. The ONLY reason choppers come in except at fixed times for resupply is to do medevacs. If the units are separated, some may NOT get resupplied anytime soon. Please refrain from commenting if all you plan to do is show off your ignorance.

How is it even remotely possible for them to be running out?
You just bring in some choppers with the grub and the bullets.
Good grief.Just like that, huh? Like I said, you seem to think it can be done just by whistling, like catching a cab. Ain't that simple... especially if units are separated. Not to even mention hot LZs or sand storms...

So you're telling me that they don't know where their units are?
