*Study* the culture. I've been doing so for months. Look at the Koran, the Sunna, the Al Hadish, the Sayings of Mohammed.
And the more you read, the worse it gets. There's little to avoid getting your eyes opened in a serious way if you go to the original texts.
Then write an essay to knock their PC socks off!

My, my. What an appropriate name for this dogmatic bureaucrat.

Krapf said. "As a public school we must prepare students to go out into different types of culture because our job is to help the students, these young adults, to fit in and understand other cultures." It would be one thing if they would teach the truth about those other different types of culture but you know they'll teach a fairy-tale version.

Dear Richard,
Go ahead and study their religion and their 'culture'.
It'll make it easier for you to kill large numbers of them when you get the opportunity.
Regards,
L

Poulin said. "How come we can't sit down and study why we worship what we do, but we can sit down and study what another country does?" Poulin said. "How did it come we can't sit down and study why we worship what we do, but we can sit down and study what another country does?"

"I know (students) are trying to express themselves, but they are not looking to the future," Krapf said. "We have to be careful they make decisions that don't close doors for them. During high school, it's important to keep as many doors open as possible." This has to be one of the most inept attempts to justify the unjustifiable that I've seen in quite a while. Teach them to read. Teach them to write. Teach them math. Teach them science. But quit wasting their time and the taxpayer's money teaching this tripe.

"It's up to us to follow the adopted curriculum," Krapf said. "As a public school we must prepare students to go out into different types of culture because our job is to help the students, these young adults, to fit in and understand other cultures." Here's what's wrong with education today. There are too many teachers and administrators who think that their jobs are to turn American students into people who can fit other cultures. The job of American public schools should be to teach American students why America is the best nation on earth and teach them how to assimilate outsiders into our unique and special culture. Only our enemies are interested in turning our students into people who fit in other cultures.

I have absolutely zero respect for anybody who refuses to learn about something. Now if they are being subjected prosthelytized to then they have good reason to protest. But if they simply insist on remaining ignorant then this makes me ill.

This reminds me of that class where students had to read Michael Sells book, Approaching the Q'uran. Is there any posts on that matter?

It's good to see high school students taking a stand.
