The Pianist, directed by a Polish speaking director, where at the end the main character comes out of city ruins wearing a German overcoat, shouting to the liberating Polish/Soviet soldiers: "Don't shoot! I'm Polish! I'm Polish!", which we are to understand: "Don't shoot, don't you see I'm speaking perfect American English, therefore I'm Polish!". You're right, the stink of American money is all over the film. (It is a great work, but...)
