How many were at the rally?

Over 200 at the peak of the Rally, but it didn't last very long.

I visited your thread yesterday and you are just amazing. Knew you were capable but that was just a huge success! Congrats!

As I told you on your rally thread, I have been to Dahlonga (antiqueing) and it is a charming town and the Court House is very special.

There's a good restaurant located in an old house just off the square named The Smith House...family style meals, lots of southern style vegetables, fried chicken and biscuits.

I am so remiss in not having acknowledged your lovely addition to my thread, daisy!
Had to prepare for a 45-mile trip today to the VA Medical Center in Augusta at 0730 for labs, appointment later; update my list of medications and point out ones needing extending, etc.

That behind me now, I must describe a great sign in Augusta. The company is a well-established one for making windows and screens, and always has advertised being Christian on the revolving company sign.

Today, the limited space on the back bore this message:

God loves you
Pray for our troops
and Geo W.

Most of the South is good about proclaiming Him openly everywhere!

It's the way it is getting out to the Troops..one person at a time

A couple of dozen Freepers can gather intel in a few hours on the Internet showing over 80,000 people participating in pro-America, pro-war, pro-Bush, anti-peacenik rallies. If WE, a handful of us on just one FR thread, can come up with these reports, chances are there were easily 100k or far more at rallies yesterday---JUST ONE DAY.

The events we have documented alone would have dominated the news cycle if they had been rallies of the LEFT or ANTI-America bunch.

I think it is pretty clear that this puts in perspective the anti-war demonstrations, i.e., the media is blowing them WAY out of proportion in relation to the size of the anti-war movement and in relation to the (enormous) size of those who support our nation, our president, our military and our principles.

These are just the reports I could find of 110 rallies for America Support Our Troops being held across the US from NYC to Bellevue WA.

2,000 ….. Anchorage Alaska
300 ….. Berlin, CT
200 ….. Camp Murray near Tacoma WA
5,000 ….. Charleston WV
5,000 ….. Chicago IL
500 ….. Clarksdale, TN (I'm surprised it was this low. It's a military base town)
500 ….. Costa Mesa CA
4,000 ….. Dallas TX
2,000 ….. Des Moines IA
18,500 ….. Ft. Wayne IN
2,000 ….. Jefferson City, MO
200 ….. Kenner, LA
500 ….. Lansing, MI
800 ….. Louisville KY
40 ….. LSU Campus LA
200 ….. Martinsburg, W VA
8,000 ….. Millington, Tennessee (Memphis)
2,750 ….. Milwaukee WI
400 ….. Monterrey CA
17 ….. Point Pleasean, W VA
550 ….. Raleigh NC
250 ... Reno, NV
4,000 ….. Sacramento, CA
500 ….. Sarasota, FL
5,000 ….. Seattle WA
500 ….. Spokane, WA
17,500 ….. St. Paul MN
100 ….. Stuart, FL
600 ….. Tri-Cities (Kennewick) WA
200 Dahanego

20,000 Ft Wayne IN
2,000 Buffalo NY
10,000 Richmond VA
2,500 Katy TX
3,000 Duluth, MN organized by 16 year old girl
1,000 NYC

President's Radio Address, 3/22/03

"Good morning. American and coalition forces have begun a concerted campaign against the regime of Saddam Hussein. In this war, our coalition is broad, more than 40 countries from across the globe. Our cause is just, the security of the nations we serve and the peace of the world. And our mission is clear, to disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction, to end Saddam Hussein's support for terrorism, and to free the Iraqi people.

"The future of peace and the hopes of the Iraqi people now depend on our fighting forces in the Middle East. They are conducting themselves in the highest traditions of the American military. They are doing their job with skill and bravery, and with the finest of allies beside them. At every stage of this conflict the world will see both the power of our military, and the honorable and decent spirit of the men and women who serve.

"In this conflict, American and coalition forces face enemies who have no regard for the conventions of war or rules of morality. Iraqi officials have placed troops and equipment in civilian areas, attempting to use innocent men, women and children as shields for the dictator's army. I want Americans and all the world to know that coalition forces will make every effort to spare innocent civilians from harm.

"A campaign on harsh terrain in a vast country could be longer and more difficult than some have predicted. And helping Iraqis achieve a united, stable, and free country will require our sustained commitment. Yet, whatever is required of us, we will carry out all the duties we have accepted.

"Across America this weekend, the families of our military are praying that our men and women will return safely and soon. Millions of Americans are praying with them for the safety of their loved ones and for the protection of all the innocent. Our entire nation appreciates the sacrifices made by military families, and many citizens who live near military families are showing their support in practical ways, such as by helping with child care, or home repairs. All families with loved ones serving in this war can know this: Our forces will be coming home as soon as their work is done.

"Our nation entered this conflict reluctantly, yet with a clear and firm purpose. The people of the United States and our friends and allies will not live at the mercy of an outlaw regime that threatens the peace with weapons of mass murder. Now that conflict has come, the only way to limit its duration is to apply decisive force. This will not be a campaign of
half-measures. It is a fight for the security of our nation and the peace of the world, and we
will accept no outcome but victory.

"Thank you for listening."

— President George W. Bush

Good summation, GailA! Thank you! LadyX - hello! Hope all is well - and if you are feeling well enough next Sat in Charlotte is a Rally. Would that be something you would be able to attend? I did in Raleigh and it was a huge, resounding, success thanks to the efforts of two or three plus the Bob J brilliant FR Network coordination. BobJ - speaking of coordination - look at GailA's work here! Woohoo!

Afraid I couldn't go, Freedom'sWorthit, much as I'd enjoy it. Have a lot going on this week, and Monday begin physical therapy.

What a precious memory it is of ours in November 1998, and meeting you then!

My best to you always, dear friend - - -

A cowboy knocked on my door awhile ago, said he had a package which came all the way from Crawford, Texas and he asked me to forward it to our Hostesses. Hope I get it posted before it melts:

Kinda purty.
