There have been some disappointments. The Shias have not risen in Basra to dump the Special Security Forces invested there, and the Republican Guard rather than surrendering has moved towards and into Bagdad, which is an ominous portent. But it is early yet. The rubber has not hit the road, and will not until contact is made the the elite units. My wild guess however is that these units will not let the US/UK get at them in the open field.
Did Jennings give any sources in connection with his "bitterly disappointed" comment?

JUST ONE TIME, I wish Rumsfeld or Bush would yake one of these multi-part questions, comment on each and every inference or statement, and after the 45 minutes is over say, with a beaming smile, "Well, that's it for today. Next wek we'll let CBS bring the question packet."

I don't know. Anybody see it?

A few nights ago, Jennings interviewed by phone, an Iraqi who is one of Saddam's henchmen as a member of the Iraqi Parliment. Jennings asked him how things were in Baghdad after the bombing of the night before. The Iraqi proceeded to use his air time to spew lies about civilian deaths (he could not sleep because an old woman living next door dropped dead from the shock of the bombing) and he said we had no good reason to be attacking them. Jennings let him go on forever, spewing pro-Saddam propaganda. He did not challenge him once. He kept thanking the Iraqi liar over and over again for taking the time to be interviewed. After the Iraqi hung up, Jennings weaseled out by saying that he presented the propagandist as an example of the fact that not all Iraqis will not welcome us into Baghdad. When is Jennings going to be deported? Or better yet, strapped to a bomb and dropped on Baghdad.

Sentence structure:
This didn't come out of the NY Post as you're inferring, did it?
Don't bet on that.
BTW, the verb you want is "implying," not inferring.
The verb is 'are' as in 'you are, ot "....you're...." The better choice would have been 'suggesting', and it like the other two 'ing' words are adverbs.

Jennings and his ilk have been trying for weeks to fan the leftwing raddies into a frenzy.. and now they are giving away strategic information on the air waves with the embedded reporters (Koppel)... The REMF they have scampering around on all fours in Doha is screaming about the weight of war and the failure of the coalition to find WMD evidence. All the while Petaaah is harumphing and tossing his eyebrows north of his twisted nose... there is a real warm seat for this Canadian piece of trash in a very dark place alongside his butt buddy Saddam Insane..

Watched NBC yesterday, haven't turned on the tv today. No mood for (insert nasty cussword)anchorpersons. However I did make the mistake of bringing the LA Times to the laundromat with me. I get it on Sunday for the store ads and coupons. Today I read it and also noted their choice of pictures.
Talk about liberal bias. Try Peter the Pali on a large scale.

Another thing I caught was when the video of the Marine ripping down the Saddam poster was shown, Pete smugly intoned "one poster, thousands more to go..."

Thanks to all of you for fixing the link. When I originally clicked on it, I got a response indicating "no such story". I just wanted to make sure that Integrity is kept in place with what is being published on Free Republic. And to the person that stated that I should have used the verb "imply" rather than "infer", I stand corrected. :-)

THank God for the NY Post. Every time I accidentally found myself watching Peter Jennings these past several days, my blood pressure would rise. He is so blatantly bias. It's like he doesn't want us to prevail. And he probably doesn't.

I suggest this article be e mailed or faxed to your local ABC affiliate. Put the heat on them.No need. The affiliates are already FURIOUS. ABCNEWS left them with dead air while the other networks were announcing the breakout of the war. There is no greater crime in television, and the Affiliates Board is already sputtering mad. If anything, contact them and offer to SUPPORT them in any formal complaints they may make to the network.
Bruce Baker is executive vice president of Cox Television and chairman of ABC's affiliates board. He's an easy trackdown on Google.
