March 23, 2003--The broadcast media have, by and large, done a terrific job since the beginning of the war.
One exception is ABC News- and not just because ABC failed to cut away from its moronic programming on Wednesday night to inform its viewers that a war was underway.

DASCHLE'S POLITICAL DUPLICITY: A DISGRACE TO ALL
March 23, 2003 -- Sen. Tom Daschle sickens me to the core ("Aid & Comfort," Editorial, March 19). I have never heard anyone criticize so blindly along party lines. I hope that the American public takes notice of this guy and never votes someone like him into office again.

Daschle should resign. He and others of his ilk have used this war to attempt to further their political ambitions, and it's disgusting. And please, Sen. Daschle, don't tell me how you once served in the military and that you are backing the military. If you were in the military, you would have silenced your ambitions and allowed our men and women to go into battle without giving them more cause to think that our country is divided.
Bart Palamaro

For someone who didn't want to politicize the war when his precious protege Sen. Tim Johnson was up for re-election, I find it shocking that Daschle would make such comments when American troops are in harm's way. Stephen Sulecki

Tony Blair, who is not even American, is risking his job to help the United States. Daschle, who was elected to serve the people, turns around and bashes his own government. Though I'm a registered Democrat, I will never vote for another Democrat again.

That Daschle is titled a leader - minority or otherwise - is pitiful. This man speaks out of both sides of his mouth. He needs to duct tape one side shut.

Remember back in 1994, when the Republicans had such a great election victory?
Jennings made a statement that the result was because the "American people threw a tantrum".
I've hated his *ss ever since.
Only one thing came thru my mind, If HE cannot personally say treasonous statements about America, he certainly has no problem finding people to say exactly what he's thinking. And those questions... leading and without a ounce of resistance to the rhetoric coming out of these nut cases mouths.
HEY, PETER JENNINGS, WHAT DID YOU SAY
HOW MANY AMERICAN PATRIOTS HAVE YOU HURT TODAY?

Terrorist Ashwari and Terrorist (and serial murderer of Americans and children) Abu Arafat:
"In our opinion, the best reporter on American foreign policy is
our beloved Canadian Abu Jennings,
who took the time to sleep with us.
Like us, he hates America. He is a Canadian Palestinian."
Jennings kept asking them if they hit as far north as Basra yet, then if they passed the birthplace monument of Abraham, which Koppel, ignorantly, after being badgered a couple of times, answered in the negative.
There was nothing in those questions that would inform the american audience in any way. Jennings was trying to broadcast on air, for the world to see, where exactly our troops were located. If he wasn't a Canadian, he would be a traitor.
Hanan Ahsrawi must have been a very good lay for Jennings to act this way. I will not watch ABC coverage anymore period, and I am not as hardcore as many here. I still will flip through the 3 cable channels, and even watch CBS on occasion.
Jennings though, has once again shown his true character. ABC needs to fire his sorry ass, or they will begin to take a spike in the ratings.
