Reported by a journalist "embedded" with the 101st in Kuwait. Best account I've seen so far.

Thanks for the post. Another example why it is important to be careful regarding who is permitted into our Armed Forces.

I hope we find the weapons of mass destrcution soon and just get our troops back home. We are still hanging around Afghanistan while our broders go unprotected.

So much for tolerance, diversity and political correctness. Hopefully this incident will put an end to this insane belief that profiling does not accomplish anything.

Soldier held in attack on his own camp in Kuwait

He should have been held very tightly around the neck for a very long time before the MPs showed up.

I thought the practice of "fragging" would end with the draft....

If a guy is going to have a bad attitude, what business does he have entering the military service? From what I understand, everybody there is a volunteer and entered into the contract with the US government without duress.

Prosecution under the Uniform Code of Military Justice should be instituted immediately. Unless this individual is one of a "dirty dozen", offered a chance to avoid prison by going on the front lines, and becoming the "canary" sent into the various warehouses in which Saddam has stockpiled quantities of VX, sarin, ricin or other banned chemical weapons. He might even survive. But he would have some picture of the enemy we have sworn, as a nation, to defeat.

The tragedy of what happened in that camp is symptomatic of the teachings of militant Islam, led in America by Louis Farrakhan and others like him. What triggered this attack on his fellow soldiers after years in the service will put a pall on all other Muslims now serving in the Armed Forces. This single act of treason and murder will have far reaching effects on Free Muslims and maybe, if the politically correct among us will sit down, illuminate the hateful teachings of the Nation of Islam in North America for what it really is. Love thy brother as thy self, is not one of their strong points.

In times of war, isn't it acceptable protocol to just shoot the son-of-a-bitch?

What is Taqiyah?

He who disbelieves in Allah after his belief in Him, (is the liar) except he who is compelled while his heart remains steadfast with the faith (has nothing worry). But who opens his breast for infidelity; on these is wrath of Allah, and for them is a great torment.
--Qur’an, Surah 16 (an-Nahl), verse 100

This verse of the Qur’an refers to the incident when 'Ammar bin Yasir (May Allah be pleased with both) had to utter some words against Islam to save himself from the Quraishite infidels.

The Qur'an clearly allows hiding one 's true faith when one is in danger of one's life. This rule is called taqiyah.

Question 1: What is the meaning of "Taqiyah"?
Answer: Its literal meaning is to safeguard; to defend; to fear; piety (because it saves one from the displeasure of Allah).

Question 2: What is its significance in Islamic terminology?
Answer: In Islamic terminology it means "to save life, honour. or property (either one's own or of other believers) by hiding one's belief or religion".

I imagine the same rule would apply for a Muslim who hides his jihad sympathies.
