KUWAIT (Reuters) - Ten soldiers have been wounded in an attack on Camp Pennsylvania, a military base in northern Kuwait, the U.S. military said on Sunday.
A U.S. military spokesman gave no further details. But Jim Lacey, a correspondent for Time magazine who was at the camp, told CNN two grenades had been rolled into the command tent in the camp, in what appeared to be a "terrorist attack."

You are right. We open ourselves to this by employing or allowing foreign nationals access to our installations to perform menial tasks. We did this in Korea too!

If they managed to sneak into the camp wearing Iraqi uniform and carrying arms openly ... I don't think that our special forces, who are operating behind lines in Iraq, wear uniforms or openly show their weapons. They are not such fools! The use of special forces and commando tactics has long eroded the distinction between legitimate and non-legitimate combatants. In terms of the formalities of international law, you are right, but practice is different now, and that will increase in the future.

I pray for all our troops - even Marines. I am reminded of a bumper sticker "England forever, Scotland a wee bit longer". I plagiarize that as "101st forever, 82cd a wee bit longer".

Shep announces that early reports re translators were not true. They are searching for a soldier who is missing.
This may be sabotage, similar to the "Washington sniper" Muhammed Williams who IIRC, threw a grenade at his CO.

Hard to believe! Talk about embedded "correspondents" now we might have embedded traitors?

when you fragg the command tent. I wasn't paying much attention to who the guest was on WABC Radio while they were airing the national network program, but he defined that term in the disgruntled Vietnam way(soldier against own commander). The ABC correspondent said that was unlikely today, and the guest said more like 50/50. I was a bit outraged at that outlook, but now an hearing from Shep on FOX that the two suspected translators have been accounted for and a soldier is missing.

"Unfortunately it doesn't speak well of the security measures around the camp does it?"
There's a colonel or major who is now a 2nd looey now. I hope. And where the hell are our MPs??? This is disturbing as the CIA and DIA should have had us prepped for this.

If it was an "inside" job I vote for embedded traitor not a GI fragging.

One soldier missing in this attack. Can an attack on armed soldiers be a viewed as a "terrorist attack". It can if the people doing teh attacking are terrorists.

I don't think that our special forces, who are operating behind lines in Iraq, wear uniforms or openly show their weapons. I'll bet they don't practice perfidy, either.
In any case, this may all be academic if it turns out to be an American soldier, as it seems may be the case.
