I'd like to know why what the Pope has to say even matters at all when it comes to foreign policy. I don't suggest that he behave one way or the other. It's inconsequential to me,but obviously not to others.

I don't consider it ignorant to come out and respond to other posters who have said that I am bashing Catholics or that I am demonizing the church by my statements. My original post (#7) stated the following:

This is what the UN, our peaceniks, France, Germany,Russia and the Vatican would like to see left unchallenged.

Now I ask you, am I distorting anything or did the Pope not back us?

That's just the point: It doesn't matter what the Pope has to say. He has no army. He can't create a trade embargo with fangs. He is making spiritual suggestions. And for you to take umbrage at those suggestions shows your ignorance. You are completely missing the context.
