You don't have to provide a history lesson. I understand what the Pope represents. How does he feel about the people who have been persecuted by Saddam? I merely suggested that he took up the same position as the UN. I don't agree with him. Am I allowed to say that? Or is that "demonizing" or "Catholic bashing?"

I'm only going to answer this once, if it's ok with you. Nobody's accusing you of anything, so you needent' get so defensive. What I'm trying to tell you is that based on your position, it is clear that you don't understand Catholicism fully, and you are not clear on what the Pope's job is. He always needs to take a position against war. If you don't like it or agree with it, that is your right. When you suggest that he behave otherwise, you just look ignorant.

I'd like to know why what the Pope has to say even matters at all when it comes to foreign policy. I don't suggest that he behave one way or the other. It's inconsequential to me,but obviously not to others.

I don't consider it ignorant to come out and respond to other posters who have said that I am bashing Catholics or that I am demonizing the church by my statements. My original post (#7) stated the following:

This is what the UN, our peaceniks, France, Germany,Russia and the Vatican would like to see left unchallenged.

Now I ask you, am I distorting anything or did the Pope not back us?
