Anyone know what political leanings ZZTop has?

They call into conservative talk radio in Houston all the time.

It better warm up soon -- I may be out in Alberta in early May. LOL!

Well, it might warm up all right by then - but can't guarantee we won't have a big snowstorm - a couple of the worst storms I've ever been through have been in May. LOL indeed!

To all Freepers: does anyone here have an "in" to Sean Hannity (or Rush?) ....I believe Sean would be all over this if someone brought it to his attention, since he has said he's a country music fan and since he's had country music singers on his show (Charlie Daniels, Randy Travis, Daryl Worley, and probably others.) ...

I bet this would be something O'Reilly would jump all over, or even Greta. It's newsworthy. It's salacious, no matter which side you're on----the very IDEA that wealthy Americans would betray the very public (the Dixie Chix fan base) that made them millions! It's odd, to say the least. Any dummy would know that the people who support country music are NOT the Hollywood leftie and rock (as in CRACK rock) crowd of gangsta rappers and post-modern hippies and Clintonites.

ZZ Top--the REAL "Li'l Ol' Band from Texas" ...unlike some dumb-blonde appeaseniks who marry Hollyweird trans-somethings and hang with brain-dead, middle-aged, Clinton-kneepad wearing over-the-hill "rockers" like Sheryl Crow (who, by the way, became famous using songs she plagiarized from a songwriter who in response to being ripped off and left with nothing killed himself.)

Here goes revealing my age, but one of the great "country" songs ever written, that I have loved since 1968 or so, is Ian Tyson's "Someday Soon." Great songs like that are timeless. Beats the heck out of most of today's "country songs." (A female country singer had a hit with the song a few years ago.)

Here goes revealing my age, but I wasn't even born until around 1968. LOL.

I'm not familiar with a lot of the "old" country tunes, but I recognize crappy new ones when I hear them.

I happen to think George Strait's "Amarillo By Morning" is one of the best country tunes I've ever heard. Not quite the crusty old type of song, but kind of like old-fashioned country will a cheerful ring.

The singers formerly known as the "Dixie Chicks" became citizens of France at a ceremony at which they were awarded scale models of the French Contribution to Justice. From now on, they will be known as Les Poulettes Renduées ("The Surrender Chicks")

Ok I went to their web site and emailed them a toek of my appreciation... here's the text.

"If you don't care about your country or those who fight for it then I would think you'd at least care about your careers. In a business that relies on the continued monetary support of people like me, my family, and my friends you just made a very costly business mistake. You can think whatever you want about the country that pays your way and the people who defend your right to think it. But when you publicly offend what I would have to think is most of your fan base then you need to remember that you were selected not elected by us. Your fans have rights too and one is the right to withdraw our financial support anytime you give us reason to... and you just did. Bad business move girls."

Yup,time to break those CD's!

Oh, yeah! Sounds like "Dixie Chicks CD Skeet" this coming weekend. Maybe I'll send the mangled remains of that little disc to their manager...

I guess this goes to show that Country Music and being pro-American aren't mutually exclusive, just like being an R&B singer and Democrat aren't, either--on the red carpet at the Grammys, R&B singer Brian McKnight and (Classical artist) Yo Yo Ma came out in support of the war and the President.

...The times are-a-changin', indeed!

Frankly, if they said this - I am ashamed they are from Texas.

More to be added to my list.

If they cannot see the type of man George Bush is, they are merely showing how ignorant they are. I would bet they don't like Bush because of the Bush stand against abortion.
