If Toomey would win the primary I think he would almost certainly win in November. The Democrats, as of today, have not even put up a candidate to run (and I believe Monday is the deadline for filing to run).
Unfortunately, even here in Berks County, which borders Toomey's congressional district and is very conservative, the Republican Party leaders and legislators have (with the exception of one)come out in support of Specter.
But the November election is statewide and can a hard right
conservative carry all of Penn? That's my gripe with Republicans willing to cut off their nose to spite their face.
I wasn't overjoyed with E. Dole here in North Car. but I did realize she was our best bet to win the state. We actually had so-called Republicans saying they would rather see the democrat win rather that Dole.
