I have to say, being moved to the third row last night, and then not even called on, probably hurt her to her heart, made her feel very old and she didn't show up today at all.
I am very aware that she has been extremely crude in her comments about the President and I guess they were tired of it.
That being said, for 40 years she has been in the front row and asking questions, and last night signaled the end of that era, and having been around a lot of seniors, this was probably like a knife thru her heart, and while I too hated the implications of her questions, I am very afraid that last night may have impacted her in a very bad way......
She was only a reporter, not the enemy dasshole is, (who I must say, I would not miss.)

As Ari said, she is no longer a reporter ..... she is now a columnist ...... and one who has stated that she's sick and tired of holding her feelings in so she's going to voice her opinion.

Why should there be no consequences for her relentlessly vicious attacks on the President? Obviously Thomas believed she could use her position to launch leftist broadsides indefinitely.
I am delighted that this appears not to be the case.

She was not a journalist, but a columnist and yes, they CAN be enemies.
I do not know how Helen's private life is and I may feel compassion for her if these press conferences are what keep her going. But, she has got to realize that asking biased questions is not the mark of a great journalist, only a blowhard.

What heart? Whatever organ served as her heart during Clinton's reign turned into a gall bladder the moment Gore finally saw the light and cashed in his chips.

You are wrong and she is the one who declared her enmity to the Bush Administration.

She has no self-awareness.
She was being used by the Democrats and the left to embarrass the administration, which proves she lost any professional acumen and commen sense long ago.
If anything, she should take out her frustration and feelings to those who would lead an old woman on - not the people who finally showed her the door to prevent her from looking foolish any longer.

Wrongo Wiz.
She is the enemy in its most insidious form. She is an unabashed leftist dedicated to the destruction of Conservative thought and action. She is old and doesn't give a damn and quite willing to use her pen as a dagger to slay the conservative monster.

She was only a reporter, not the enemy dasshole is, (who I must say, I would not miss.) She is NOT a reporter, she is a columnist. She was a reporter until she quit UPI when it was bought by the folks who own the Washington Times. She quit in protest and was hired by Hearst as a columnist. Columnists are opinionated and do not belong in a room with reporters.

...not the enemy dasshole is, (who I must say, I would not miss.)Did you see him having a coniption fit last night. There was a vein in his forehead as thick as my thumb that was visibly pulsating. I fully expected it to burst any minute.
On the other hand, Bill Frist was cool as a cucumber.
FWIW, I don't feel sorry for Helen Thomas at all. She made her bed. What does she expect annnouncing that GW is the worst president in the entire history of the USA -- a bouquet of roses? If she'd said something like that about Bill, Hillary would have unceremoniously destroyed her.
