Jim Dunnigan, for one.( Strategypage.com). Don't be surprised if you see him on the networks once the war starts. (He was on NBC DURING the 1991 Gulf War.)
However, they don't have him on in the major media in the run-up BEFORE a war because he doesn't provide enough scare stories; the media uses the Hackworths of the world for that...he did appear on local radio some. I remember in December before GW I on a local radio show he was going on and on about how bad the Iraqi Army was and the host was just totally incredulous.
Problem with Gertz is that he's got some World-Net-Dailyish qualities; every story is sort of overexcited, overhype, something big and scary....kind of short on solid background and real military nuts-and-bolts.

I'm just wondering... Do you ever have anything positive to say about anything? Aren't you the know-it-all guy who is almost as negative as Jim Underscore? Or am I thinking about some other "John" with initials in his name?
